06-30-2008 = Stokes Interrogations w/Ecuadorian (not USC); "wait 2 weeks; we'll mail her."

07-2008 = Daily calls to DOS: "currently processing"; 8/05 = Phoned consulate, got Section Chief; wrote him.

08-07-08 = E-mail from consulate, promising to issue visa "as soon as we get her passport" (on 8/12, per DHL).

08-27-08 = Phoned consulate (they "couldn't find" our file); visa DHL'd 8/28; in hand 9/1; through POE on 10/9 with NO hassles(!).

Amigo of ours (age, 2x2x2x2x2+[2x2x2]+2+2 years) had a heart transplant years ago; this heart failed; he's been hospitalized since December waiting for another; he's slowly weakening; he has a wife & Manyage son; and Mrs. T-B., who visited them, wouldn't ask them if he has a Will, no she man.

 

Good grief, man:  the first thing that we did after we married Mrs. T-B. was to draft Wills, relevant powers of attorney, et al., necessary for life man.  The surest way to get one's family to curse one's name intensely and forever is to die intestate, will-less man.

People are weird about wills. It's like they think if they make one, it's courting death. Of course, that is inevitable, but all the same.

 

It's tricky eh? I mean how do you say to someone clearly in extremis, hey, you got a will, right? Seems a bit crass. People close to death, and their relatives, don't want to talk about it. Maybe approach the wife, and gently inquire as to whether or not she has her legal issues in order.

T-Bone, you reminded me that we never updated our wills after the troll was born.  I just updated/ordered new ones.
