Many. There are indeed farmacias Benavides in Mexico City. Farmacias Similares is cheaper, though.

Laredo, see one or two man.  Our favorite is Farmacia Unica in Ojinaga, Chih., great man.  Sometimes the independent places will cut deals, always a plus man.

Mexico City is amazing, and awful. You will love it and hate it, all at the same time. I think it is the best way I can describe it. 

I do recommend you to actually venture after the border towns, since those are where dreams go to die. I grew up in Cozumel in the Yucatan peninsula, and it is dramatically different to Mexico City and the northern side of Mexico of course. 

Yes those are extremely expensive for some damn reason. I always try to go for smaller farmacias, as well as ''tienditas'' (instead of seven elevens) I currently live in a neighborhood that feels much like a small town, which isn't bad.

Just been watching a reality show about US CBP called "To Catch A Smuggler".

 

Showed a woman trying to enter the States on a B2, she openly and honestly states that she's entering to take care of her grandson while her son works. Her records show that she's spent seven out of the last twelve months in the US and she's asking to enter for another six months. CBP lets her in.

 

Doesn't that go against everything that gets advised here? Working on a tourist visa and spending more time in the US than is recommended? The CBP officer didn't even mention anything about working on a B2.

 

I don't know if the officer was playing nice because the cameras were there or if this officer was just generally more relaxed than others but what's the point of having rules if those who enforce them don't bother. The woman was blatantly (even if unknowingly) abusing her tourist visa and while a part of me can sympathise and feel glad that her day wasn't ruined there's also a part of me frustrated because I hear of others being refused entry for far less reason than that.

 

Part of that is naturally frustration over my own situation. I was a young and ignorant fool when I broke the VWP conditions, I was in the wrong and I accept that I had to face the punishment of my 10 year ban. But now that ban is long over but I'm still unable to travel to the US and I've been advised that it's likely that I'll never be granted a B2. So I'm going to be punished all my life for abusing the system one time, many years ago, but others can abuse it without consequences.

Minimum wage in Mexico: $3.94 U.S per day. around $123 U.S a month 

Minimum wage in the U.S:  Between $5.25 and $11 U.S per hour. Or at least 1280 U.S a month.

minmum wage in the USA federally is 7.25/hr

It only goes lower for servers which is utter BS to me.  I get maybe a small drop for alcohol servers (example in BC, Canada) waitstaff who serve alcohol typically get more tips.  But to depend on the public to pay your employees on a regular basis is dumb to me.  This isnt the great depression, pay your employees!
