Emails and PM's from my youngest sisters work mates and business associates, and her friends. What happened to her?  Is she ok? When are they re-opening?  Never so it seems. Investigation shows, that after her Cafe caught fire in December, she has sold up all of her commercial property, her house, the lot, left Canada and relocated to Grand Turk, of Turks and Caicos fame.  With her daughter and her husband and children to boot. In 5 weeks, from go to gone.

 

My Mother in laws marbles. She can't have many left, but none the less is off to Florida for a week , to visit the person who was my 65 year old husbands Nanny.  I have to get her to the airport, shovel her onto the plane and hope for the best.

 

So, people. And as usual in the drab grey end of winter, I am homesick. I know it's summer there.

I speak spanish with a neutral accent that absorbs other accents, italian with a mexican/neutral accent trying to sound italian, and english with a subtle accent that people never seem to identify where is from.

Credit card offers are a strange thing to my wife. Her credit rating, after 1.25 yrs in US, was good enough that we applied for a car loan together a few months ago. Now she's receiving cc and other finance offers in the mail, daily. She went from... "Oh, new mail for me!" to  "$%&*^%" in the span of a few days.
