I can't stand the machine the sound drives me nuts. 

He is missing the lower left side of his jaw, from the midline to the TMJ. He had cancer surgery in 1984, and lots of radiation. He hasn't any teeth as a result of all that. His upper jaw, and the right side of his lower jaw do not meet up. I don't think a dentist can help, as you need all of those bits for a oral device. Good idea though, wish it would work. Even the little bit I listened to that machine last night shows there are ear plugs in my future.

MIL went for her stent at 18:00. She came out without having one. Apparently, a blockage isn't her issue. She comes out tomorrow. I told her I will only go and get her when she has the paperwork in her hand. It's already three hours out of my life without hanging about.  

 

I'm thinking we need a referral to Gerontology.

  Tell them that you have to care for your husband and they need to get Medicare to provide her with more help, like a CNA that comes to the house or drives her to appointments.  Unless you are pretty vocal, they think you are handling the elder care just fine.

Cdn- I can see how a dental device won't work. The machines are much quieter then the older ones and the one you take home should be also. I have this issue with noise in the bedroom. While ppl like the sound of white noise like a fan or waterfall ect sounds. They drive me bonkers. I'd would use earplugs if I didn't worry about the little ones waking up and needing me. I actually find his snoring to be less annoying then the stupid machine. The sound of the air going the machine reving up and down and then the odd time his masks shifts it makes a whistling sound. 

 

They should get a Gerontologist to see her while she's in there, enough is enough already. Maybe a psyc eval too.

Good point. I didn't think of that. I keep forgetting how much you need to push here.

CDN I'm sorry to hear all your woes there. It dwarfs my problems.

I'm frustrated as all hell. This has been one long 9 year battle for me.

It all started with her throwing out a  tax bill on me years ago....

I know in NY, you can get paid to care for your MIL and husband. And I know this is true for many states.

As far as I can tell, in Arkansas, you can get paid to care for your MIL, but not your husband. And you need no training.

Gosh, Eh ma'am.  Have you consulted with an oral surgeon yet, perhaps affiliated with a medical/dental skool, huh Eh ma'am?  Or, contacted some of the cPAP manufacturers directly, huh ma'am?  They'd probably be highly responsive, we think man.

1.  If there were a Many,000 button, this deserves a push, classy man.

2.  The first time a mild case of this occurred, we made it crystal-clear to Mrs. T-B. that any repeat incident meant immediate return of her shapely hindquarters to Ecu on the first available one-way conveyance, bye man.  Since, she has swept things into boxes (and forgotten which boxes, ADD she man) but has not actually thrown anything away, perils of same recognized she man.
