Do posts in teeth set off metal detectors?

Please help!!!!   Guysss Here is my stupid question, but its really kind of worrying me. I'm traveling next week...if I have crown jacket metal posts in my teeth, is that going to set off the metal detectors at the airport or are they too small? I'm almost embarrased to ask, but I'm also really kind of worried about it. Am I going to need a note from my dentist?

I have screws in both my knee and shoulder and they've never set the metal detector off, but I did have a pack of gum with foil wrappers that set it off once. If by chance your teeth do set it off, they will simply do a closer check. Once they find there is nothing to worry about they should let you through.

Have two screws in my leg, and never had the detector go off.

Adding to this for the future, I have I think 5 posts in my mouth and a large plate with many screws in my leg, it doesn't set it off.

 

It is a common misconception, just like MRI machine and these items.  In general, if the item is MRI safe, it won't set off a metal detector either.  It has to do with the composition.   Unrelated, but I had to explain to a nurse recently why you can have an MRI if you have a stainless steel plate.

 

What I do get an invasive pat down nowadays for is bringing milk for the youngest kiddo.

Thanks to several years training Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, I have a 3 metal pins in my shoulder and a titanium dental implant.  I've never set off an airport metal detector.
