For the I-134, most embassies only look for the most recent tax filing year. A small handful of embassies go by the I-864 guidelines even for the I-134, which require 3 years. Either way, you will need 3 years for AOS, so it's probably best to just get them all now and not have to worry about it later. They're free, and besides the page after page of verification questions asked, I was able to do it all online just now in well under 10 minutes.

Hi, I am wondering what if my fiancée has been working for less than 3 years? He has a stable job but he just left college a year ago. So what should we do in this case? Thanks in advance!

Working or not doesn't matter for tax returns. If no return was filed because no return was needed (i.e. didn't owe taxes), then a letter describing why can be provided to USCIS. If taxes did need to be field but weren't, then that needs to be resolved first.

Current income is usually more important than the history.

Ok, I have a question of my own now, because I think I've confused myself.

We never received any hard copy notice from NVC, just the NOA2.  So I called and checked in with NVC after two weeks, then again at the end of week 3 (Friday).  I was told that they just processed it and sent it off the the embassy that very day.   So...I was under the impression that my fiance would receive a packet in the mail telling him to schedule his interview, gather certain paperwork and get his medical exam.

But, when I just went on the ceac site and checked our NVC status it says:

Your case is in transit to the Consular Section. Your interview date was provided to you by the National Visa Center.

Um, what? I thought Dani would have to call to schedule it?  How can we be sure he will be available on a set date? (He is working up until he is approved and scheduled to come back to the US.)

Thanks for any advice!

The status you are seeing is a standard status - not specifically for K1 which is different.  Just wait for your instructions from the embassy :)

Hi all,

So I read that the beneficiary does not have to get all of his/her vaccines before the interview, but does have to get them once married in the U.S. Is this true?

Yes. I would recommend to get all vaccines before she/he come to USA, because its way cheaper than in USA. At least in Poland it is cheaper. Vaccines and all medical as I know is valid one year.

Get them now.  If you wait until the AOS you will probably have to go through another medical with a civil surgeon - and they can charge hundreds of dollars for doing another medical.  Your medical now will be valid initially for six months for entry into the US.  The AOS must be filed within one year of the date of the medical (which it will be as you only have 90 days to file after entry to the US) and all that needs to be submitted is the DS3025.  If you don't get the vaccines now you will probably have to go through the US medical in order to get the six something form (i-693?) instead.

It will save you time and money to get those jabs now.

Wow, I'm in shock.  I just read about the case that tops our friend on here whose fiancé forgot to check some of the most vital boxes and provide an explanation for how they met.  That story about the man who told the CBP officer when asked about his intentions to marry and he said, "Maybe we will.  Maybe we won't."  I would be livid!  How do you wait this long, with emotions high, and money dwindling due to paperwork and travel...and say that?  My heart aches for his spouse and I can't imagine what's next after that.

NOTE: I removed cases with "final" (approved, rejected, denied, etc.) statuses from my list, and added around 1,600 more Dec. filers. As such, the "Unworked Cases" table above is not representative of today's actual progress. The summary is accurate. The table's numbers include more records today than Friday, resulting in negatives.

Geo are you saying no cases touched for the 14th of Dec since there is a negative #?

No...most likely a bunch were touched, but a bunch of Dec. 14th were added as well (it was the cutoff date from my last set).
