Hi S&D,

From whatever I've seen and read so far, i dont think it should've ideally taken this long. Usually takes 2-3 weeks max.

I suggest you call NVC and check.

All the best :)

Edit - You may also call CSC and verify when you case was mailed to NVC

Hi!  Thanks for your reply.

Well, I did call USCIS yesterday. Not sure if you saw my post about that. Is USCIS different than calling directly to the CSC?  Forgive my ignorance, just not sure if they're considered one in the same or not.

USCIS was completely unhelpful and indicated it was no longer their problem since the petition was approved. BUT, at the same time, could not confirm that it had left USCIS.  I'm like, uhhh ok...so it's in a black hole until it pops up one day at NVC?  Thanks for nothing.

A nice-er guy at NVC told me yesterday that "4 weeks is very normal" and I disagreed with him.  He told me I "shouldn't worry".  I did ask what happens if it reaches 6 weeks (their magical threshold) and he said, then you're given a "special" email address and they basically go dig it up from whomever's desk it is sitting on.  Comforting.  So, it's likely just sitting somewhere, lost in a pile.

Just struggling to stay upbeat about it. You feel so elated with you get NOA2 and know you're really close.  And then, weeks go by and things aren't working how they're "supposed" to, so you start to worry.

Thanks guys.

Oh ok for Japan where my fiance will be having her interview it seems maybe a faster embassy than normal. Most timelines for that consulate between NOA2 and Interview seems to hover at almost exactly 2 months total.

Hey,

I'm at 101 days. I was told today that they could not inquire @ my case until the processing date on USCIS' website passes my received date on my NOA1. I'm sure that's the standard answer.

Let me know what they tell you.

Best Wishes to You!

Please validate that your receipt number is correct and that you have paid the correct amount for the visa which you are applying for." I've been trying for two days and no luck :(

It will vary enormously from country to country - estimate about a month from NOA2 to the case reaching the embassy - and then it depends on procedures at each Embassy.  Some might provide an interview in about a month - some are quicker and some might take longer - however they must process your case (including interview) within four months of your NOA2 date.

For country specific information it is best to search for threads, forums and posts that are specific to the embassy and country.

I've been reading the whole afternoon to understand the process. We need to pay it first before we get the receipt number. First you have to get a gci number which you will need the deposit slip.

When you click the $265 MRV it will generate the gci number. Follow instructions together with it.

I have attached both images so you have an idea. Visit your country's consular website to see the exact fee. My attachment is for Singapore consulate. I haven't done mine but will settle it soon. :)

Scheduling of an interview can generally take under a month to 4+ months. Some embassies are really over packed and don't have interview dates available. I recall reading a post here about a month ago about somebody from Riyadh waiting over 3 months just to get an open interview date from the embassy. That said, they do not have to process your case within 4 months. The 4 months is just the expiration for the underlying I-129F petition. The embassy should extend this by another 4 months if you keep it active (or auto extend it if it's waiting on something from them).
