Do you think they skip cases? I've seen cases getting the second letter after ours, which makes me think if they are even going by "first come, first serve" as they say.

:(

I wouldn't exactly say "skip". There is definitely as progression from day to day, week to week. More likely, people pick from a big set of cases...some can be worked on right away and are simple, and others may take a while for some reason. If they went ion a strictly first come, first serve manner, I think it would cause a bunch of hold-ups while they go through a large set of more complex cases...whereas they are tryiong to get through as many as possible form day to day (as they are graded/judged on those types of metrics).

Commenting on the numbers question for cases.  Made a random discovery a while back, when I accidently switched 2 of my numbers when looking it up.  It will show you the results of that case.  So IF you have the time in the day, you could essentially sit there and play with the numbers to find how far back cases are being approved and how close they are to your number....or you can just keep watching VJ :)

That's essentially how the apps and my scripts work. The numbers are sequential, so I just go through every possible number (in order) to find the I-129Fs. Then I only scan those from then onward.

Hi everyone, The number is actually a long code, signifying where, when, and what number case you were to apply that day.

Example receipt number:

WAC 11 012 50960

Service Center (WAC 11 012 50960)
Fiscal year Year (WAC 11 012 50960Computer Workday (WAC 11 012 50960)
The third set of digits indicates the computer workday that the case was opened (excludes most weekends and holidays). Case Number (WAC 11 012 50960)The final set of five digits is the case number in the order it arrived in that day.

Hope this helps!

Tammie

This is what most of the forums say but i dont think the concept of workday is correct. For me that number is 901.

I wonder how there are 901 computer workdays excluding weekends and holidays, in a year of 365 days?!

Unless, it means the number of central computer day for all computers in a centre go sequentially (different series for CSC, TSC, VSC etc) . But this number can max be 999.

Its a lil confusing. any thoughts @geowrian

I have a question related to K1 beneficiaries in India. (or if anyone else knows about this :)

Can anyone please confirm if we can schedule the medical exam or interview at embassy in India after we receive the NVC case number by calling the center, or beneficiary needs to wait till the file reaches the embassy?

Thanks :)

Hello

so how many days after got approved we should call to NVC to get case number?

- i see a lots of case fail in interview because the consular don't trust their relationship and they need more proofs as family tree, timeline, marriage commitment...! I think our case have been decided fail or not in the first step maybe, and interview just face to face but the result is not change! Is that true?

It looks like from my case that WAC is your service center 17 is the year and the next 3 are the numbers of the first date listed where everyone looks to see when their case was touched (but with day then month), because mine is 901 and January 9th is my last touched.  After that I think it's probably just sequential.  Does that sound right @geowrian?

Yes still at noa1 waiting for noa2. I called Friday she said I was still in normal processing time because they are working on Sept 16th cases. Did you talk to just the first person when you called or did your call get directed to a tier 2 officer that told you to call after 120 days?
