No updates this weekend on my scan. A couple cases had things like name changes and such, but no approvals, denials, or RFEs.

Where do you go to do that scan Geo?  Think the last one I saw did not have later filings on it.

I'm not sure what you mean exactly...? I use an AWS server and some scripts I wrote to do the scan.

Hi everyone. Also a Nov filer. I have been following this thread for quiet a while and the forum is so helpful. I got my NOA2 at feb 6 and the case is currently at the embassy right now. Having been really nervous and excited for quite long time lol

I have one question: I stayed in US for 4.5 years on a f1 visa. Do I need a police certificate from US?

Also I am kinda worried that it's been over a year that I and my fiancé haven't seen each other(he joining the military and I came back to China). Is it too long? But before I came back to China, we already dated for one and half year in US ( tho still long distance relationship--him in NorCal while I was in SoCal, during school semesters we met once every month, and then spend all the major holidays, as well as all the school breaks together. We were literally everyday together during all summer and winter breaks. ). Anyway, I would like to know if us not seeing each other for over a year would be an issue? Any answer would be appreciated! Thanks! :)

you only have to prove that you have met in person in the past two years - so a year apart is not a problem

Hi everyone! My fiance (petitioner) moved a month ago to another place, we asked our lawyer to make the change of address on the USCIS web page, but he didn't do it  our case was approved on 02/09 and it's now on its way to Venezuela for the interview. We are worry now because we (he -the lawyer-) did not notify on time about the new address, and we are afraid that that might be a problem in the interview. I put the new address on the DS-160 but anyway... We are worry.

Do u think that would be a problem?? what can we do to fix that??

P.S.: He got the hardcopy of NOA2 in his new address just because he changed his address at the post office, so every package with his old address in it will be redirected.

Having face time from filing to interview isn't a requirement. It does help, but isn't required. But you will need to bring proof of an ongoing relationship during that time period to the interview. Things like call logs, Skype/FB Messenger/etc. screenshots, and so on are alright.

Yes it's normal - it can take the Embassy a few weeks to mail the packet 3 instructions.

Whilst you are waiting you can prepare your ds-160, your i-134 and supporting evidence, schedule your medical, request your police report and get your passport photos etc for your medical - along with your vaccinations and a summary of any medical conditions from your doctor.  There is plenty to do whilst you are waiting!

This is EMBASSY SPECIFIC. If I were you I would get in touch with other people from France (who have been through the process already) and ask what it is you are supposed to do OR call the embassy and ask them what their procedures are for this.

For example, in Chile once the petition arrives at the embassy you have to actually go to the embassy in order to pick up the paperwork and they will schedule you an interview as soon as the petition arrives and if you don't know to go pick up the paperwork you run the risk of missing your appointment. France may do it this way (the way Chile does) or they may sent the packet themselves. I don't want to alarm you but I would call/send an email to the embassy asap if I were you.

Can someone please get back to me do the last 5 numbers of receipt number mean anything ?

I believe they assign the numbers in the order the cases were received. Other than that, I don't think it holds any specific meaning.

So we received our RFE letter today. Basically they just ignored the photos and evidences we sent them. They want more proof that we have met in person for the last 2 years and ignored the evidences we sent them from a couple years back. Like photos we took the first time we met and the years after. Our bad. Lol

We are now again sending them photos we took 2 years ago including plane tickets, hotel room receipts and etc.

I hope the evidences we gonna send them this time are enough to convince them our relationship is genuine. My fiancee and I have been together for 6 years and I would feel so bad if they will reject our petition for the lack of evidence. Keeping my fingers crossed!

To those still waiting for their NOA2, just hang in there. It will come soon and hoping no RFE's for you! Good luck to everyone! ??

Do you think they skip cases? I've seen cases getting the second letter after ours, which makes me think if they are even going by "first come, first serve" as they say.

Commenting on the numbers question for cases.  Made a random discovery a while back, when I accidently switched 2 of my numbers when looking it up.  It will show you the results of that case.  So IF you have the time in the day, you could essentially sit there and play with the numbers to find how far back cases are being approved and how close they are to your number....or you can just keep watching VJ :)
