Hello everyone!

Today my fiance called the NVC and they gave us our case number and invoice . Once I went to check it on the tracking number page, it kept saying "invalid application id or case numer", is that normal? I won't be able to track it until my case is sent to my embassy?

It may take a little bit for it to show in the system. Are you using the CEAC status checker (https://ceac.state.gov/CEACStatTracker/Status.aspx?App=IV)?

Ensure when your checking your status on the CEAC website, it's under Immigrant (IV).

Oh man, I was checking it under NonImmigrant because there I could chose what my embassy will be. Will then once my case leave the NVC change to NonImmigrant?

Cool. Yeah, ensure you're using the IV option. Otherwise give it a day to update in the system. If it's still not working, it might not hurt to call up NVC and confirm the number.

The case will stay as an IV in NVC's system. That's just how they treat K-1s.

Yes I was the entire time checking it under the Non one haha  I see that it says I can pay already the fee? I'm some lost here on what I'm suppose to do now..

Did you guys get an email or letter from NVC telling you that your case was sent to the embassy?

At this point, it's embassy specific for what's next on the beneficiary's side, when to submit the DS-160, etc.

A letter will arrive in the mail notifying the petitioner that the case was sent to the embassy. Once the case is at the embassy, they will send the beneficiary packet 3. Some embassies will send it via mail, others via email, and yet others only have it on their website.

18 days after approval we have our NVC number and ours is on its way to the embassy in Zimbabwe  We had already completed one of the two police clearance forms, and scheduled his medical for May 10th, without our NVC number, trusting we would have it in time.  We planned for him to move from South Africa to Zimbabwe on May 5th, without having our NVC number, trusting it would come.  So he leaves for Zimbabwe on May 5th to complete these last few items on our checklist before he comes home to me in GA.  This was our toast on our one year anniversary in this crazy good love story...and soon very soon, I'll be his wife
