I....GOT....APPROVED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :dancing::dancing::dancing::dancing::dancing::dancing:

Now my question is, I have to wait around a week and a half to 2 weeks before we call to get a number. Am I right? I understood that this number we have to use it to pay for the D-160 and choose date for interview?

Congrats!!!!

It can take up to 6 weeks to get to NVC, but 1-3 weeks is common, which ~2 weeks being the "sweet spot" from what I've seen. That is the case number used for anything with the visa side of things (DS-160 and so on). Many activities still permit you to use the USCIS number, though.

i have seen people do it within a month. I am hoping to do mine within a month also, if not I would need to transfer my petition to another embassy

I hope it doesn't come to a transfer...I'm still dealing with doing it and it can take weeks or months... =\  London is pretty quick,though (both in terms of getting an interview and rarely has an extended AP period).

Does the moment from getting an NVC # to interview and approval always take one month?  Is it ever less?  Trying to set a wedding date.  I pick my dress up when I have my last fitting for my birthday this Saturday.

It really varies on many different factors... Some embassies have short waiting periods to get an interview (ie.e. Manila, London, etc. are good on this), while others can take a few months to schedule an interview. It's also possible that your application may require additional documents or go through some other form of AP after the interview (i.e. background or name checks). That can take days, weeks, or months. One month would be realistic but still on the quick side of things for most embassies IMHO. it takes several days at a minimum for NVC to process the case and then physically ship it to the embassy. Then the embassy needs to receive it, process it, etc., which will add at least several days. unfortunately, I don't know about the typical interview wait for your country, sorry.

Also, the medical exam may delay the process if anything comes up, such as with the chest x-ray and they have to do extended tests (i.e. Sputum or such takes 2 months to clear).

tldr; It's risky to set a wedding date prior to having the visa in hand.

They will ask for the USCIS number or NVC case number as their very first question (usually before even a "Hello" most times I called). Since you only have the USCIS number (WACxxxx....), just give that.

Hello everyone. First time posting here. I've been browsing these forums the last few days and just wanted to reach out say hello talk about my situation mabye get some insight . November filer here. Papers sent November 16 2016. NOA1 was November 25. It's been a stressfull pass few months. But I felt a little better seeing @Andsco be approved today with the same NOA1 date. Congratulations to you hope you keep rolling smoothly. On March 23 recived a transfer  notice to the Vermont service station. Really going through these forums there's been hardly any movement through Vermont. Kind if really nervous about it. Disappointing to see it move from California.  I also will add I did file with an IMBER and had an attorney file for me to avoid any errors. Any insite, or support would be great. Thanks!

Don't give up! I'm sure you'll be really soon approved as well as I saw a lot of people approved not just last week but this week!. Somehow I feel like USCIS went back to November cases and they are working hard to finish them before the end of the month. So keep your hopes up and you'll see how in the next days you'll hear something from your case as well!!! :)
