Hi everyone, again,

 

I've been a lurker since our case got approved. But I pop back in to have some questions cleared up. 

 

It's been 3 weeks since our case got approved, I called everyday since last week and they still haven't had our case number (in fact, to my understanding, they haven't even got the shipment from USCIS yet) and been telling me it can take up to 6 weeks for them to receive the package. 

 

I thought the wait is over, sigh. Is this normal that a case number takes this long to get?

It's technically within the normal timeframe of up to 6 weeks. Whenever I called, they told me the same thing. That said, it seems like within 3 weeks is common. While it won't speed up the process, you can try calling USCIS to verify they actually sent it to NVC already.

While my case at NVC is there anything I can do? I already have all my documents ready and faxing them over. Just wondering what else. Can I fill out the DS-160 and pay for it?

Hey! Finally My case is in 'Ready' status on ceac  

Now the doubt strikes - Shall I wait for the packet from embassy or can i go ahead and schedule interview right away?

I hope everyone is hanging in there! After the NOA2 things should start moving faster! Keep calling the NVC if you get no response, call the embassy, and don't panic. I learned that the hard way  good luck to everyone who is still waiting. I know the wait is brutal, but y'all got this!

Hello everyone,

 

I emailed the American embassy in Egypt asking for status and they send me instructions but some of if is confusing so I hope someone can help me please. They asked to send documents via Aramex service but didn't provide instructions on how to do that, do you go to aramex office and with an anvelope with all documents that has the American embassy? When the embassy receive how do they know it's your case do you provide the case number somewhere on the envelope? Also on the list of documents they asked to send it includes the medical exam and the affidavit support and a letter from employer and W2's but further down the instructions it says to bring them to the interview. Thank you for all your help.

Does the moment from getting an NVC # to interview and approval always take one month?  Is it ever less?  Trying to set a wedding date.  I pick my dress up when I have my last fitting for my birthday this Saturday.

i have seen people do it within a month. I am hoping to do mine within a month also, if not I would need to transfer my petition to another embassy

There were 4 Nov. cases approved today, along with 0 RFEs.
