Nope. they didn't say anything about tax transcript. They just said I should submit Form I-134 and forms W2 and 1040 for the last 3 years.

This is what the email says (in spanish):

  • Affidavit of Support
  • Declaración de impuesto de los tres últimos años, formas 1040 y W2.

In preparing for my fiance and my interview next weekend and putting the paperwork together for the affidavit of support, it is important to know that there are 2 types of affidavit of support forms:

1) I-134, which is given to the foreign fiance to submit in-person at the K1 Visa interview.

2) I-864, which is submitted with the adjustment of status paperworks.

The criteria of supporting evidence is more stringent in the I-864 vs. the I-134, and VJ recommends providing supporting financial evidence for the I-134 with the I-864 criteria in-mind:
http://www.visajourney.com/content/support

Basically, be fully prepared than under prepared.  You will need those documents anyways down the road.

My 35th birthday is this Saturday and we would appreciate prayers for an approval for my birthday.  I've made 5 trips to South Africa and each one cost between $1,200-$2,200 on a teacher's salary and that's just the flight, not hotels, or any entertainment.  Blessed to have made the trips as I know many are unable to do the same, but financially ouch.  He has almost lost his life several times and one of the closest calls was last night.  He and I had said goodnight and then I missed a call from him.  He had gone on a late night walk unable to sleep, thinking of and missing his love.  I called back and immediately he started running and screaming.  I didn't know if he was ok or what was happening to him.  He lives in an extremely dangerous township in SA and where they burn people alive (to give you a real clear picture of the violence) and he witnessed a man he knows being mugged.  While others did nothing he called out and ran after the man.  He had a knife to his throat and because my love called out he got away with the man's keys, phone, money, and wallet...but his life was spared.  The kept thanking him for saving his life.  He helped him to his feet and took him back to his house.  Today that man is still thanking him.  Many nights there are protests or the Toi Toi are singing in the streets before doing something violent.  We've witnessed stabbings, muggings, and while 95% of the people are HIV positive almost 100% are drunk 100% of the time.  It's insane, and the rape statistics leaves me speechless.  He's the pastor and electrical engineer.  This community was our mission field and has been his for 11 years.  Helpless I call on my Helper nightly.  I could have easily seen and heard my love shot to death had the man retaliated.

Hi guys.

I (beneficiary) will be moving countries in a few days. Also, it's been 5 weeks since we got the RFE, so I'm hoping the NOA2 will come any day now. Should I let them know the day after I move? Or can I wait till after NOA2, so I won't slow down the process even more?

What do you guys know about the work permit ??like how long does it take ? When should we apply for it? Anything & everything is helpful

You should be able to apply for EAD work permit and AOS ( Adjustment of status ) at the same time this is after you have gotten married.

is the rfe (reply) when they receive the reply or when you send it?

Thanks!!

Not sure what you mean.

So you have replied to the RFE? Or are you asking when they (USCIS) receives the reply how long does it take for them to approve your petition?

You can apply for AOS + EAD + AP together after getting married. AP + EAD is currently taking 90-120 days on average.

I used the date I sent my RFE out, but I don't know if that's correct or not...there's no information on how to fill in that field. So idk if it's when you send it or when they mark it as received.

It took 2 business days for them to receive my RFE, and they acknowledged receipt the same day (lucky!). Then it took them 2 business days to send an approval, but my RFE was really simple and I had the response prepped to go. On average, I'm seeing about a week after RFE being acknowledged until approval. But obviously it depends on the reason for the RFE as well.

Thanks geo!

They wanted a copy of my fiancés adoption papers as her parents marriage certificate wasn't enough. So that's what we have sent a copy of that as it's all they asked for :) hopefully it's pretty straight forward of looking at it and going yeah cool "Approved" lol
