It's not fun at all! I hate having to explain the whole thing to everyone over and over too. No one seems to understand there are no solid timelines.

And yes by now it looks like none of my friends can come over. Return flights are up to about 800€ for us here and if it hits July it's over €1200 so I'll probably have to buy my moms flights for the wedding and that's about all I can afford for anyone else :( thankfully we are just doing a courthouse wedding and hopefully plan something for friends back in my home country in a year or two once I have the green card.

Same. I was thinking more courthouse now, and a bigger thing in a year or two in the States again once I have the money to buy people tickets :D Right now I can't even feed myself properly. #studentlife

Congrats from a fellow Canadian! Makes me nervous mine will take that long too 😅 But hope to see all the November and early December filers approved soon!!!

I am taking my time with the application, as I am in a wedding in September for my girlfriend, and we're traveling to Vegas for her bachelorette. All of this was decided AFTER I had applied for the visa lol, so all unexpected, but strategically planned from here on out. I hope you receive your NOA2 MUCH sooner than mine!

I feel for you! 115 here but we got an rfe.

Going completely insane and none of my family or friends understands. I hate getting the "so when are you going to hear?" Question hahaha

It seems we and some others were handpicked to practice patience and self-control. 😅

My Noa1 is from Nov3rd, exactly 160 DAYS ago. And they didn't even touch it. My sanity went to space.

My fiancés family is going to a family vacation in June and we're starting to get afraid that I might not have my visa in time. 😢

@geowrian and @AkesAngel or anyone who can help with I-134 questions:

1. Do I leave it here in Africa with my fiancé or take it home to send from America?

2. Who requests this document? In other words where am I sending it?

3. Does my fiancé need this document for his interview?

4. I am including a copy of my work contract I recently signed as evidence I'm working another school year. Should I sign and date every page?

5. The USCIS number requested on there is that the NVC number? WAC number didn't fit.

6. Which tax transcripts do I include? The actual name of the kind I need to print

  1. Not sure what you mean...? The I-134 needs to be presented at the interview by the beneficiary, and should have a wet signature still.
  2. It's presented at the interview by the beneficiary.
  3. Every CO must believe that the beneficiary will not become a public charge in the US before they can issue a visa. For most, that means they need a sponsor to complete an I-134 to cover the beneficiary. It's up to each CO on whether or not they will require the I-134 to satisfy the public charge issue, but iIn general the answer is yes - it's needed. It should be taken with the beneficiary anyway in case it is asked.
  4. It won't hurt, but I don't think it's actually needed to do so. There's nothing in the instructions indicating that pages need to be signed.
  5. Are you referring to Part 1, #10? That's an optional field to put in your USCIS account number from their website. If you don't have a USCIS account, then you leave it blank.
  6. It's just the tax return transcript. If you request it online from the IRS, then choose the "immigration" category and it will  direct you to the right transcript.

Believe it is 603-334-0700 for immigrant visas which I believe is what the K1 is considered at this stage. This is the number I called and got my case number. Agent was very friendly.

I went with the info VJ member Greenbaum has on his Philippine specific K1 site:

"Begin calling NVC as early as 5 business days after receiving your NOA2 test message. Call NVC at 1-603-334-0700 or 603-334-0888 (people are having better luck with the last phone number). Operator assistance is available Monday through Friday from 7:00 AM to 12:00 AM (Eastern Time). For the shortest wait time, begin calling for the NVC Agent at 7:05 am EST M-F."

I was calling for a case number in September, 2016, so maybe things have changed.

@geowrianWhen getting transcripts does it need to be accompanied by W2s and 1040? Or can my fiance send me just her transcripts itself

For the I-134, I could not find anything that indicated W2s or 1040s are required when using transcripts. I do see people who have provided W2s, but nothing I see says it's required.

For the I-864 (for AOS), if you provide the W2s or 1040s, you also need the returns...and if you use transcripts, then you don't need any of the others:

"If you provide a photocopy of your Federal individual income tax returns, you must include a copy of each and every Form W-2 and Form 1099 that relates to your returns. Do not include copies of these forms if you provide an IRS transcript of your Federal individual income tax returns rather than a photocopy unless you filed a joint income tax return with your spouse and are qualifying using only your income.  "
