Hi,

I'm sure this has been posted/asked before... but do you know what's the phone number to call them?  I know they have 2 and one never gets answered. I wanna make sure my fiancé dials the right one, since he's kinda phone-phobic  don't wanna put him through any more anxiety (I was thinking i should be the one calling)

And any suggestions of what should I ask at NVC? LOL...  I'm so lost!

Thanks in advance!

Number is +16033340888

Try calling before 8 AM Eastern time (NVC Timezone) :) i never had to wait more than 5 mins if I called this time.

Got mine just now, too! However, my plans to change embassy (Riyadh -> Manila) are in a bit of disarray now. I called 3 times and got 3 very different answers to the exact same question. Classic NVC. First person insisted that it cannot be done at NVC (the 6 people I spoke with prior to him claimed the opposite). Second person said they need to review the letter I sent previously requesting the change. Third person gave me an email address and format to make the embassy change request.

So we were indeed in the same batch!! :)

Ohh.. i can only imagine the anxiety such confusing answers cause. Why dont u try and keep it Riyadh only if the change is avoidable...? I hope the little discomfort might be worth this confusing process.

All the very best :)

Yup!

Riyadh is a much more difficult embassy and my fiancee is exiting the country in a couple months. Also, I can't interview with her there...you can't even get a visa to KSA without a government sponsor, company sponsor, or religious reason. They don't have tourist visas at all.

Your fiance should ask if a case number has been assigned for his fiance's K-1.

Just be sure that he has the following information before he calls:

Name and date of birth of the beneficiary

Name and date of birth of the petitioner

      Receipt number from your NOA-2

Believe it is 603-334-0700 for immigrant visas which I believe is what the K1 is considered at this stage. This is the number I called and got my case number. Agent was very friendly.

130 days. Someone please help me to stay sane.

Wow, I'm so sorry you've been waiting so long. I'm sure nothing is going to help right now other than getting an actual approval or even RFE, but all I can really say is that we're all here to listen to the frustrated venting, and I'll definitely keep my fingers crossed that you hear something very soon. I wish i could give you some wisdom or insight into why your wait has been so long, or promise you you'll hear soon, but I'm afraid I can't. All I can do is hope on your behalf, and wish you a lot of luck.

@geowrian and @AkesAngel or anyone who can help with I-134 questions:

1. Do I leave it here in Africa with my fiancé or take it home to send from America?

2. Who requests this document? In other words where am I sending it?

3. Does my fiancé need this document for his interview?

4. I am including a copy of my work contract I recently signed as evidence I'm working another school year. Should I sign and date every page?

5. The USCIS number requested on there is that the NVC number? WAC number didn't fit.

6. Which tax transcripts do I include? The actual name of the kind I need to print

Ah yes, the "when will you hear" question is terrible. My family and friends ask almost daily haha

I just tell them, I could hear tomorrow, or I could hear a month or 2 from now, it's out of my control. :P

No, the worst thing is telling your friends you still can't pick a date because if they don't but tickets now, when they are still cheap, they won't be able to come to the wedding. I mean return tickets are 600 dollars already. That's more than my 23 year old friends make a month in my country. I can't ask them to spend more. My best friend already said she's gonna have to pass. I might suprise her with tickets so she can come anyways, but I can't do that for multiple people. This sucks.

I totally understand! I have a tentative date for the wedding picked, but nothing is set in stone yet as you can never be 100 percent certain with this process. Most of my family lives in another country, but they can't buy plane tickets yet and it is so frustrating because I know the prices are going to start going up soon due to it being summer holiday time. :(

It's not fun at all! I hate having to explain the whole thing to everyone over and over too. No one seems to understand there are no solid timelines.

And yes by now it looks like none of my friends can come over. Return flights are up to about 800€ for us here and if it hits July it's over €1200 so I'll probably have to buy my moms flights for the wedding and that's about all I can afford for anyone else :( thankfully we are just doing a courthouse wedding and hopefully plan something for friends back in my home country in a year or two once I have the green card.
