I can not describe, how happy I am. But right before I had a long talk with my fiance, because he was overthinking and couldn't sleep til 4 am.

And a few mins after hanging up, I checked my mails and realized, that we got the notice while we talked. Now I cannot wake him up, because he's already short at sleep.

BUT I'M SO HAPPY AND NEED TO SHARE THAT FEELING!

 

So for all the lovely couples still waiting: PLEASE DON'T GIVE UP! YOUR TIME WILL COME SOON AS WELL!!!

Electronic approval notifications usually come through around 9-10:30 PM ET. Not always, but that's generally the timeframe.

My foreign fiancee consulate interview this week!! I'm totally excited but nervous same time. He never traveled in a plane before so he is a little nervous himself.

 

We both received similiar packet 3 from Consulate, one addressed to him in Mexico and the other addressed to me and mailed to our USA address.

 

I checked status on CEAC and case got updated again to March 31. I wonder if consulate mailed another correspondence or it simply means they reviewed our case again to prepare for the interview day.

Ok guys, just sent from in transit to ready on the ceac site!! Advice please...I'vealready downloaded and done packet 3, and 95 percent of packet 4 is done...not sure what to do at this point.  Is this where we do the ds160 or 260 whichever it was?

Yes its mean you can do DS160 for K1 Fiancee Visa, pay your visa fee and schedule consular appointment, ASC, & medical. GOOD LUCK!

Hello everyone,

 

ourr case has has been at the American embassy in Cairo for 2 weeks now but we haven't heard anything yet. Are they suppose to send packet 3 or are we suppose to call to schedule for the interview? Also is NVC suppose to send us a welcome letter with invoice number? What is the invoice number for?

I know you posted this a few weeks ago, but I can tell you what we learned about overseas marriage and divorce; hopefully it will be useful.  My fiancé lived in Korea for eight years.  While he was there, he got married and then divorced.  He never received a copy of the divorce paperwork and didn't request one before he left Korea.  When we started researching the visa, one of our first questions was how to get a copy of his Korean divorce certificate.  Here is what we discovered:

 

1) You need a certified copy of the divorce paperwork.  In some countries, this means that the paperwork is signed by a judge.  In other countries, this means that the paperwork has a raised seal.

 

2) Some embassies will allow you to order a copy of the divorce paperwork.  We visited the Korean embassy in Toronto and filled out a form to request the divorce paperwork.  A few weeks later, they told my fiancé that they couldn't process it because he isn't a Korean citizen.  However, some embassies will let you request divorce paperwork without being a citizen of the country.

 

3) In our online research, we also found that some countries will allow you to order a certified copy of your divorce paperwork online and have it mailed to you.  The Korean government doesn't offer this, so we didn't look into it very deeply, but it might be an option.

 

We spent several months trying different strategies for getting the paperwork.  My fiancé's parents were traveling to Korea to visit his brother, so he wrote a letter authorizing them to obtain his divorce records, but that didn't work.  He tried contacting his ex-wife.  We reached out to an expat network in Korea, who put him in contact with a lawyer, who couldn't help him because my fiancé no longer lived in Korea.  In the end, my fiancé flew to Korea and requested the divorce records in person.  The day he called me to let me know he had a copy of the divorce paperwork was on the same level of amazingness as the day I found out we got our NOA2.

8 Nov. approvals today! Slow but steady progress at least. It may not sound like much, but they're covering about 4-5% of the remaining untouched cases per day still.

 

I'll post detailed weekly statistics still, but simplified daily ones like the above will continue normally.
