Congrats Geowrian, that gives me hope ours might be approved quite soon!

 

We received our rfe letter yesterday. That is a week wait between receiving our rfe notice and getting the letter.

 

It wasn't about okcupid at all like I had suspected. My fiancé missed one check box... dohh! Least its an easy fix

 

Sending back on Monday.

Hello. I have a couple of questions for those who have a Filipino Naturalized USC petitioner with Filipino beneficiaries as well: 

 

1. After NOA2, Do we need to secure a copy of the Philippine birth certificate of the USC petitioner? Or is his naturalization certificate enough? 

 

2. USC petitioner was a minor (16yo) when he was petitioned by his parents to the US. But he acquired his Naturalization at the age of 20 (no longer minor). My question is, Do we still need to secure a Philippine CENOMAR for the USC petitioner?

Awesome! I hope you get through the next phase quickly so you can be together  

 

Our noa1 received date was December 15th, our letter was December 21st. I'm pretty happy, I thought we might not get anything until April.

You met on OKC but did not get an RFE for it? Did you submit proof OKC is not IMB in your application packet?

No I didn't include the term and condition or something from OKC website. Our timeline said, on that date, I sent my fiance a message ask if he wanted to make friend with a person from the other side of the world, and he responded. Then after that we submitted the screenshots our first conversation on OKC. Luckily at that moment I didn't deactive my account as I thought I did hahaha. That's why we were able to take a screenshots of it, then I deactived my account. We never mentioned it was a dating website, we just wrote "OKcupid" and that's it. Actually we didn't know that some people got RFE because of it. I was pretty nervous after we sent the application, but lucky enough we passed

oh i see! good for you! i asked because because we also met on OKC and we did not submit any proof it's not IMB. 

 

i recently saw goewrian and one other person received an RFE for not sending proof too so i am a bit worried with our application. in our application we said we "met on okcupid, a free online dating site" and then we included our very first messages. we are preparing for an rfe but i am hoping we will get lucky too.

 

we did not think it would be a big deal since OKC is a pretty famous site and they must receive many applications with OKC info all the time, so it seemed impossible for them to not know its not IMB. i now realize we should have sent proof anyway, but oh well, too late now.

Good luck to you. I think some of the officers know OKC isn't a IMB but it's not their job to know, it's our job to prove that. Just like when we go to the interview, the C.O default every fiance cases, or spouse cases are fake. It's our job to prove them wrong :D.
