Wow, this 2nd thread has been growing fast. Since I got back to Europe in January, I haven't had too much time to check in regularly. Just like many others here, my fiancée and I are still waiting for NOA2 because we got an RFE. The RFE date was listed as February 1, but it took a good two weeks until my fiancée finally received the letter. USCIS wanted more proof that we fulfill the 2-year face-to-face requirement, so aside from the boarding passes, my i94, and a list of places and dates of our meetings, we submitted about 4 etickets, booking confirmations, and itineraries, passport stamps, and three pictures. USCIS received our package on March 14, and now we're waiting again... I really just hope, wish, and pray that we're approved any minute now; I must admit that this is taking a greater toll on me than I would have expected.

Good luck to everybody; I hope for all of us to be with our significant others very soon!

Yes :) trying to get approval now from my employer for 2-3 months. Its just too much, I'm ready for this all to be over or for at least my fiancee and I to be together. My fiancee said last night "money doesn't matter, your just going to remember the experience as negative if you don't make it comfortable for yourself and have fun with it", which is true I believe. We can afford to do this, we can afford to live comfortably in Chile now I just have to get my employer on board. haha.

You would be coming to the US from Spain correct? I feel like if you have good ties to Spain then they shouldn't deny you, when was the last time you were in the US and for how long? Is Spain on the ESTA visa waiver program? I agree, it is a scary situation being turned down at the airport, my fiancee the second time he came he got quite a ear-full from the immigration officer for coming back after staying 90 days and then away for 45 and then coming back.

I wish I got an RFE..at least there would be an answer. I sent all those things on the original package and still no reply from them. I might try calling the NCSC today and getting something out of it..

I really hope you get a positive answer and you two get to spend those months together. The best thing that could happen is to get approved and be together, you guys will be able to go out and celebrate! :D

Yes, I would be coming from Spain. The last time I was there, was in January (I left the US on the 9th of January) and I stayed for 1 month and 3 weeks. I came with the ESTA and we were thinking to either come now on April for a week or wait until June which will be already 5 months since I stepped a foot into the US and come for some longer than a week if we still got no news from NOA2 (which at that point would be crazy...)

Hi guys. My CEAC status w/ NVC case # is changed to "ready" today (took exactly a week since I got my case number)

I just submitted the DS-160 already, and found the packet 3 online for my country, which basically includes 1) instruction to complete DS-160, 2) Form DS2001-HNK (Notification of Applicant Readiness) and 3) a document checklist

It states to return (mail or submit in person) the above forms to office "when you have obtained all the required documents [on the checklist] for the visa interview."

The document checklist includes items like police certificate and medical examination. Obviously it will take maybe another week or two to complete those, and I don't need to bring them until the actual interview. Does anyone know if it's okay to send back packet 3 without all the checklist items in hand already? I want to schedule my interview ASAP as there will probably be at least a month wait.

NOA 1 received / 11-25-2016
NOA 1 on notice / 12-03-2016
NOA 2 approved / 02-28-2017 (87 days)

NVC # assigned / 03-16-2017

Case left NVC / 03-17-2017

CEAC status changed to "ready" / 03-23-2017

Their instruction says to not send those items to them but only to obtain them for the interview. Only need to send back the DS2001-HNK and the "checklist" itself. Would you say I should still wait until I have everything?

Probably best to just wait. Last thing you want is an interview date that comes before you're prepared.
