Hi everyone, hope you all are doing wel!

i just had my interview today at the Guangzhou embassy and I was approved! Yay!

The interview was relatively short. The CO focused on if I am or was a communist member, and on the proof of ongoing relationship. She asked me to give her all the chatting history thruout my entire relationship(which lasts almost three years), but I only brought the ones of the latest three months, she accepted them still.

super nervous before the interview, now finally some relief!!

just hope they don't put me thru AP for too long for now...

Congratulations!!!!

Thank you.

one more question please, My case status show Ready on NVC case tracker, do I need to call to setup the interview date or should I wait to receive package 3 first? and does my fiance receive package 3 or I?

Thank you

Yasser

Since you asked this question on Tuesday, both @KimchiLumpia and I wrote long posts about the process when your case shows as 'ready' - in response to your question.  The posts are around pages 110/111/112/113 - please go and read these as there are several posts and lots of information.

It will depend on your country (as mentioned in these posts), the beneficiary receives the information (as mentioned in these posts) and you might be able to set up the interview now or you might have to wait until you receive package 3 (as mentioned in these posts).  There is a lot more information in the posts - so please go and read them.  I wrote mine after seeing your question - and @KimchiLumpia followed up with a very long and detailed post.

Congrats Afraye! Did they ask any questions on the affidavit of support or look at it closely?

Hi thanks!

Basically you you will be called out to three different windows. On the second window the staff there would ask you turn in all the affidavit of support materials. She asked me for tax report and I said I don't have it cuz my fiancé just worked for a year, and then she asked me for co sponsor material, and then I said he's in the military blah blah, and then she's like, it's up to the CO to decide if u r eligible or not. I was thinking,of course I'm eligible, meh,I know more about this than you do. Lol that Chinese lady was kinda rude in the beginning and she even mistook my f1 visa in the past as j1 visa. What the...anyway, I turned in 2 w2 from 2016, which barely pass the poverty line.

during the third window, where is the actual interview, the CO didn't bring up anything about the affidavit of support thing at all. I am not sure it's because they just don't look at them closely or just because my fiancé is an active duty military member which makes things eAsy--u know, there are all kinds of benefits for married couple in the military...and active duty member only need to meet 100% federal poverty guideline. And besides, serving in the military means stable job and housing....so...I really can't say if they don't look at affidavit of support material closely or not.

hope this helps. Good luck!

Good morning everyone. I have a quick question.

I called the NVC this week and recieved my case number and an invoice number. He advised the numbers were just assigned the day prior. When I try and check the status through CEAC it says the case number is invalid.

I'm not worried about this but was wondering if anyone has any insight as to what I may be doing wrong or is it just too soon to check?  Thanks in advance
