For the I-134 what kind of money are we talkin?  I'm a teacher, so not exactly loaded :)  A few thousand? A few hundred?  Anything as long as it's not in the negative?  I head to Africa next Friday, and would like to have this complete, but honestly may need to ask my parents to deposit our wedding money and let us hold it there for a bit if they are looking for a large amount.

RFE :(

anyone know what they have been normally!

How long does it take to be sent out?

5 hours ago, Chelleyandaaron said:

It could be for anything - a box that wasn't checked / a missing signature / not enough evidence of having met in person / a missing copy of a document / a document that wasn't copied clearly / a box that wasn't filled in / request for evidence that an online dating site isn't a marriage broker

for RFE times - @geowrian had an RFE recently he might be able to tell you how long it takes to receive the letter

Getting an RFE isn't so bad. As noted above, it could be for almost anything. Lately, I've seen most being for a missing/incomplete form or proof that you did not meet via an IMB (or if you did, proof of compliance with IMBRA rules for doing so).

I got my RFE notice on the 10th, and the physical notice was postmarked on the 14th (2 business days later). I received it in the mail on the 17th, albeit we had no mail delivery for 3 days in my area due to the snowstorm. I mailed the response yesterday (20th) via Priority Mail ($6 flat rate) and it is expected to be delivered tomorrow (22nd). Once USCIS acknowledges the response being received, it is taking from a couple days to a couple weeks for a decision in most cases. The average is about a week.

For the I-134, it needs 100% of the federal poverty level for your household. See here:

https://www.uscis.gov/system/files_force/files/form/i-864p.pdf

Some COs use the I-864 guidelines, which require 125% of that level....I don't know Zimbabwe's attitude towards that, sorry. Most go by the I-134 (100% level) for a K-1. If using assets instead of current income, it's 3x the amount (or difference if combined with current income) for US-sourced funds, and I think you can use 5x it for foreign sourced funds. But COs will generally look more at current income than assets. It's not a strict "you meet the minimum so you're fine" type of deal...the CO needs to be sure the intending immigrant will not become a public charge. The I-134 is one way for them to help make that decision.

A sudden large deposit of funds likely won't be taken into consideration.

@geowrian so they are looking to see that I have $16,000 in my account currently, or that I make at least that annually?  I was most concerned about what is currently in the checking and savings.

They will primarily be looking to see that you make $16,240 (assuming you live in the continental US and it's just you and your fiance that will be living together and with no dependents currently). Or, you can use $48,720 (3x that amount) in assets. Assets must be easily convertible to cash within 1 year and cannot be a hazard to do so (i.e. you can't count your primary home, but a secondary home would be fine).

Thank you @geowrian I appreciate all that you do.  With 4 trips to Africa in 5 months, a car lease up, and an apartment lease soon to be up for renewal, I was hoping they pay most attention to annual income, because that would be approved, but my accounts do not at this time reflect it :)

@geowrian thanks!

We we meet on Facebook and the evidence provided was pictures of us/ numerous plane tickets as I flew out there 5/6 times last year and a few other thins that were asked for :/

hopefully its just a form issue, I would be annoyed if it was as we used a 3rd party company to double check all our documents.

so if the rfe was 20th could there be a chance it could be with my fiancé in Illinois by Saturday maybe?

Thanks everyone else for the help

@geowrian does your report say 66 for my December 27th date because that's the number you have loaded?  I usually see 492 on the other person's report.  Which one is more accurate for my date?

I only have 66 loaded in my daily list (that's the 5,000 case mark currently). The other list starts later than mine and goes further ahead.
