Question about K-1 getting drivers license. HELP!

I am confused. My fiancé applied for a drivers license (TX) and passed the written test already. Just waiting for the actual test. 

 

Then we got a letter that they are cancelling his drivers license unless we show them proof that his lawful status has been extended. What proof do we need? 

 

I haven't sent the AOS packet yet.. Please, help..

You will need the NOA1 from the AOS package. 

They ran this along with passport, visa, expired i-94, SSC, marriage certificate (I'm the wife and changing name) for me and it was fine. I'm  also in TX.  I got my license for one year.

aw. i haven't sent the AOS package yet :( do you know how long does it take to receive NOA1 after sending the packet? I am so worried reading stories that USCIS are slow right now..

It has been taking a little bit to get the NOA1 I have heard from some people.

08/15/2014 : Met Online

06/30/2016 : I-129F Packet Sent

11/08/2016 : Interview - APPROVED!

11/23/2016 : POE - Dallas, Texas

From sending of I-129F petiton to POE - 146 days.

 

02/03/2017 - Married 

02/24/2017 - AOS packet sent

06/01/2017 - EAD/AP Combo Card Received in mail

12/06/2017 - I-485 Approved

12/14/2017 - Green Card Received in mail - No Interview

For me it took around 1 week for some ppl at the same time it took about 3 weeks... so it's hard to say... but be glad that your NOA1 can get him the license at all. In some states they have to wait for the EAD!

aww. so his actual driving test is on the 24th. and the letter said they will cancel his drivers license number on the 26th. I will file the AOS by Saturday (waiting for marriage cert). So we need to wait a little more while again :(
