Hi guys! I'm a returning member of Visa Journey. I can't remember the last time I vsited  this site. I am bringing my mom to Tuscaloosa Alabama. Filed for her visa a year ago, been approved at the NVC. She is scheduled for her visa interview appointment at the US embassy in Manila first week of March 2017. i hope you can help me out here. She went to the Bank of the Philippine Islands (BPI) branch in Cavite where she lives to pay for her visa fee. The bank told her she needs to register online, print out her confirmation number, and take it to the bank before BPI accepts payment. My question is what website she needs to go to, how is she going to do it, and is there a link to the visa payment via BPI bank. She doesn't have a BPI account. She is paying cash. Appreciate it if you can enlighten me on this.

I am petitioning my mom, too, but I'm still waiting for my NOA2. When I read the process last time, I thought you have to pay for the Immigration Visa Application Processing Fee first before getting scheduled for an interview, so I'm not sure. But hopefully you get an answer from that link. Good luck to you!

Goodluck on your visa journey with your mom. It was a daunting process for me. I did all the paperwork, and my brother was the one helping me with all the fees. I had an RFE which was a first time for me. All is well and ends well. My mom is on her way to her interview two weeks from now. However, she needs to do all these things before she shows up for the interview, and she is stressing out. My pobrecita mami. I was able to figure out how she can pay her fees at the BPI bank by asking some people here. I am crossing my fingers that the bank will accept her payment this time.

I am planning to sponsor my mother in law. How long does the process usually take?

what to do mean by sponsor? to be your husband's household member?

because you can't petition your mother in law for a GC. your husband must file for his mom if he is a USC. as the petitioner he is the primary sponsor and will need to fill out the i864, if he doesn't make enough to cover her, you can be his household member, fill out the i864A to combine income

So if he petitions her, how long can it take?

I'm assuming your husband is a US Citizen? Only citizens can petition parents

it will take from 8 months to a year

and if he can file now, because they want to take this category away, there is a proposal of canceling parent\s, siblings and children over 21 petitions for the future
