Affidavit of Support

Hi guys,

I am slowly starting to look toward the next step even though we have not received the noa2 yet.

I had a few questions about the affidavit of support and co-sponsors. My father is going to be our co-sponsor as I am a student and do not make nearly enough, but I was confused if there is a separate form for co-sponsors or if I would just put my father's name under "sponsor" on the affidavit of support form? Also, my father is self-employed so getting a letter from his employer is impossible. Other than my father's 2016 tax returns, what else should we send to my fiance to take to the interview?

Unrelated, but how important is it to have updated letters of intent to marry at the interview?

My father usually claims me as a dependent so I do not file my own taxes. Can I submit the i134 without having my own set of tax returns?

Yes, you can. In my case, my now husband just attached a separate letter of explanation stating that he is a student, didn't make enough, blahblah and therefore didn't have to file for taxes. Just add a similar explanation, either in the "additional information section" or in a separate page.

Perfect! Thank you so much!

For our joint sponsor (self-employed), he used proof of ownership of his company and his tax returns from the last 3 years. ?
