Congrats.

Paperwork will go from USCIS to NVC. After about 10-14 days you can try calling to get a case number. After NVC sends it on to the embassy in Manila. You will receive a hard copy of the NVC case number letter in the mail.

She will need a copy of this for her medical.

Once you have the NVC case number MNL********* , she can set her medical and her interview (leave 1-2 weeks in between medical and interview). Also start checking your CEAC as it will update accordingly to when it's "Ready for interview".

She can complete CFO at any time, if before the interview she needs to return with passport and visa for final stamp/certificate.

She also needs her CENOMAR or which ever document applies, her NBI clearance, any other police reports if she needed them.

You can also begin now filling out the I-134 and collecting all needed financial documentation to send to her.

11/08/2016 : Interview - APPROVED!

THANK YOU!

Does the paperwork come to me or to her?

Who do I call for a case number? USCIS? What is NVC, Do they have a number?

So she cannot do medical without case number?

What is CEAC?

What is CFO?

What IS CenMAR ...

Sorry... I really just did all the leg work for the Application... I am trying to help her with this portion.

Does the paperwork come to me or to her? The NVC will send you the petitioner a hard copy of the NVC case number, it's just a one page thing.

Who do I call for a case number? USCIS? What is NVC, Do they have a number? NVC - National Visa Center , I would have to look up the number again, but you should probably get the hard copy in the mail within lik 2-3 weeks.

So she cannot do medical without case number? That was main thing they wanted for my partners medical was the case number and a copy of the NVC letter.

What is CEAC? https://ceac.state.gov/CEACStatTracker/Status.aspx? You check the status of your case here when it goes to the embassy. It will be under "Immigrant" visa. You use the NVC case number MNL*********** that is assigned to you.

What is CFO? http://www.cfo.gov.ph/ This is a Philippines' specific requirement everyone does before leaving the Philippines for overseas.

What IS CenMAR ... If she has never been married before, this is the certificate that will show she has never been married and is legally single and all. Another specific Philippines document. https://psa.gov.ph/civilregistration/requesting-civil-registry-document/cenomar

Also she will need to make sure to have a copy of her birth certificate (maybe 2-3 copies so can bring a couple with her to the US for AOS), and her passport will need at least 6 months left on it to receive the visa. So if hers is expiring so within 4-5 months, she needs ot get a new one.

Sorry... I really just did all the leg work for the Application... I am trying to help her with this portion.

This is what I did. Soonest we got NOA2, I started gathering the documents and fill up DS-160.

Everything else was ready including form i-134 before we got the case number. After 10days, we got the MNL# and I paid the visa fee via BPI Online. I set an appointment for interview even before receiving the NVC Letter and CEAC Status changed to ready. Anyways, there are so many people applying too, so most likely the earliest interview slot is a month away. Here's my timeline:

This is good information! I was wondering if I had to wait for the Case status to be "ready" before having my fiancé book the interview. It looks like just the MNL# would work.

Yes once you got the MNL# you can book for an interview online even before CEAC status is "Ready". I cannot attest for setting an interview appointment via phone as I havent tried it. I did mine online and didn't encounter any issue. Most likely it will take 3-5days from "In Transit" to "Ready" so if the earliest interview slot is 3weeks away, you got plenty of time to do things. Unless, if you are one of the rare cases where either NVC/USEM misplaced your documents. If you feel that you underestimated your timeline, you can always reschedule anyways.

Honestly, even before having the MNL# you can already pay the visa fee through BPI Online. If you do it online, you dont need to enter any MNL#. However, You just need to have a BPI Bank account to do so. The only risk about this process is that: if you pay too soon and the visa fees had change when you get your MNL#, you are not subject to any refunds. That's why i recommend to pay soonest you got your MNL so you can book/set an interview right after.

I see. But isnt on form ds160 they need the NVC number? Or its ok tho put the USCIS number from ur NoA
