Juarez Embassy Requirements

Hello, I'm getting my documents ready for my fiancee who is preparing for his interview for K1 Fiancee visa. Since all embassies are really strict on items taken inside the embassy, I was wondering if it will be okay to present documents in a 1" 3 ring binder, or if anyone who has or had an interview in Juarez, will the embassy be okay with the binder since it has metal?

Hola mgsanch509!  This is the information posted on the Consulate Ciudad Juarez website = https://travel.state.gov/content/dam/visas/pk 3 supplements/MEP - Ciudad Juarez.pdf.  For our interview we're placing all of our packet documents in a small clear plastic brief case with color coordinated side tabs affixed/attached to the various required documents that may be asked for.  Best of wishes for a successful Immigration Visa journey.

My fiancee just got his interview on Friday and was approved for his visa! Yayy!!! 

 

Your next step is to get NVC case# by calling 603-334-0700, wait about a week for USCIS to send approved petition to NVC and then you can start calling . Although you may be told to wait the standard 5-6 weeks, usually you can receive case # in 10 days, look at my timeline. Once you get your case#,  you can track your Immigrant Visa Case at https://ceac.state.gov/ceac/  

 

Once you see READY you can now create an account at https://ais.usvisa-info.com/en-MX/iv . This is where you will select your DHL pickup if visa is approved, schedule ASC & Consular Appointment.

How long it took the consulate to send you the packet 3?

 

I'm worried about this part of the process since we had to abbreviate my address in the forms and I am worried I won't receive it at all. 

 

Any advice?  Ty

You are a little early for packet 3. NVC will not mail you anything, if they do it will probably be an email with your case #. But the letter you will need is from the consulate after NVC sends your package to the consulate.  Look at my timeline. 😊

 

 

Be aware that this letter is REQUIRED at Juarez Embassy, without it you will be turned away! If you don't receive it on time before your interview, make sure to go to the information window at the embassy a day before your interview to have them print it for you. Also at  ASC biometric appointment, the beneficiary will also be asked for this letter.

I'm aware NVC doesn't send a letter. I was asking about the final stage when the consulate receives the case and sends the letter.  That's the one I'm worried I won't get.  

 

I noticed it said it was send from Tx. Did they send the letter to both beneficiary and petitioner? Or just the beneficiary in Mexico?

Yes its from the Embassy of Juarez but letter was generated in Texas. We both received letter,  one addressed to me (US Petitioner) with fiancee information and case number, the other was addressed to him. 

 

He already had his interview last Friday, approved for his visa! 😊

Congrats! I'm using my phone right now and couldn't see it! 

 

Do you think I can use his letter instead of the one they're supposed to send me? 

 

Or both letters are completely different?

Thank you!! Yes either letter is fine, you don't need both. They are identical, one is addressed to both petitioner/beneficiary. If beneficiary doesn't get letter in time for interview, just have reprinted at information window a day before the interview. It wouldnt be a problem. Good luck! 😊

Thanks for the info!  I thought the letter was required before even scheduling medical and biometrics.  So how could I do those if I still need to go and print the letter one day before the interview?

I understand and its okay, I was lost too there's nothing wrong with that.

 

Its required at the embassy but you don't need it to schedule anything. As long you have a case number issued by NVC, just make sure case status on CEAC system says READY and case have been received by the embassy. No need to wait for the letter.

 

The letter as you can see on the attachment, its just links and information where to find forms and information, and how to schedule both ASC and Consular appointment.

Our case its ready at the consulate. So we're nervous about the next steps. 

 

Do you think its wise to start the DS-160 without the letter (packet 3)?  Or should I wait until me or my fiance receives it?

I would do it just make sure the beneficiary clicks the submit button to electronically sign and not the petitioner.

 

My fiancee and I submitted the DS160 before receiving anything from NVC or the Consulate. We had no problems with at the interview.

Thanks! What option did you select before creating the DS-160 ?

 

It gives me 3 and I'm not sure which one is the correct
