out of country for 9 months

so it's been almost 5 years that I've had my green card (CR1, conditions removed 3 years ago), and I'm considering filing for naturalization.

however, i've had a 9 months stay in europe about 1,5 years ago, and now i find out that, according to N400 instructions, being out of the country for longer than 6 months resets the 5 year clock.

can anybody confirm if that 9 months absence from the country would negatively affect an N400 application?

Thanks in advance!

Definately can. As an LPR the whole point is to maintain and stay in the US. Long, or multiple lengthy trips out of the US during your LPR status will count against time when it comes to naturalization.

Official answer to your question is here: https://www.uscis.gov/sites/default/files/files/article/attachments.pdf

Run the worksheet starting from Page 5. 9 months absence looks fine.

Even though this was not my question, @charmander I really appreciate your giving an official answer!  I see so many times on here what people think and not give what the government actually says.  No offense to @Ben&Zian because he always gives awesome advice!  I appreciate how he is always willing to help someone else.  There are a few people on here that drive me nuts with their know it all attitude lol.
