Hi everyone, my wife is sending her AOS package next week and I just had a general question. She is filing the I-485 (AOS) and I-765 (EAD) at the same time, and I am planning to put each application plus its supporting documents in one envelope each. And then put both of these envelopes in a bigger one, and send it out. Did most people usually include one overall cover sheet for both envelopes? Or did each envelope/folder have its own cover sheet? Any tips would be helpful. Also, I'm assuming the I-864 Affidivat of Support goes in 1 envelope along with the AOS papers. Correct? Thanks

i used small clips to hold all the paper for each application AOS, EAD and AP (yes the I-864 is part of the AOS package. Then I clipped all three applications together with one of those large black clips. The cover letter showed all three applications with indented text for was was included in each application.

By any chance, did you staple any papers together within each set? Or were they all loose and just put together with the clips?

I did staple papers that were a set among themselves. For example my 2006 tax form witht he W-2 but did not staple all tax information together. The multupage applications I also did not staple these together. I know they will hole punch at the top and place in their file. My goal was to put it together as simply as possible do that they can reassemble the way they need to without being confused as to what was included.

We used seperate one for each form filed.

We had one overall cover letter although we listed the documents in two separate lists, first everything for the AOS and then below a list of docs for EAD....

Unless one doc had more then one page we didn't staple, or even put paperclips on them- we just made sure that all the documents were in the order presented on the cover letter.... and on there it was: docs specifically requested first, supporting evidence docs last....

Naturalized! Yeah!

I attached one sheet for all docs (applications for AOS + affidavit, EAD, advance parole). I made a heading for each document, with bullet points stating each piece of required evidence that was attached. I do not think you need to do a separate cover letter for each application. Just make sure the letter you prepare is as clear as day for the officer to read.
