Hi,

We had our interview last August. We are part of the F4 petition my aunt did. We are told we need a Joint Sponsor last August during our interview.

Anyway, 6 of the family (3 Aunts and 3 uncles) so far immigrated over the last one year and we are the last 3 family members left (through my dad). We needed joint sponsor for 4 out of the 6 families previously and whenever we submitted we would get a response within a week to a max of 2 weeks if the joint sponsor is accepted or if another one is needed. My aunt submitted at least 7-8 joint sponsor previously of which 3 of them were not sufficient and the case officer would respond within a week and ask again. And my aunt did submit and all of my uncles and aunt went and been living there now for over a year.

Last December, we submitted our joint sponsor after the August interview. They didn't even bother to update or check (as I checked through CEAC tracker). So, I emailed them on 20 Jan and then they said it's processing without even opening the files or any. Then I emailed them on 8 Feb last week and then they finally sort of touched (as the date changed), and still saying it's just processing. I mentioned that it never took more than a week (actually they would tell us as soon as they open the file if not sufficient previously sometimes even in 2-3 days).

It just feels like they are hardly bothered to check or any. if it is not sufficient we will submit another, but not actually doing any and just saying processing kind of sounds like the file is being ignored for no reason. I also mentioned if it is not sufficient, we would like to submit a new one in my last email.

Sorry for the long message but just trying to give the overall scenario.

Is this happening to a lot of people now or just us ? Wouldn't that be like click on the computer and find out if it is sufficient or not as they did previously than holding us for no reason ?

Thanks !

Sounds familiar. I've submitted my additional docs at the end of November, it supposed to be reviewed in 30 days, but it's already 3 months and still waiting. Sent an email to NVC, but didn't receive any answer. When I called them, they said, that they are still reviewing and that they know, that they are out of the timeframe, because NVC has a lot of work. Well, wonder what's going on there, been thinking, that maybe i'm just not lucky and my case just got stuck, cause it's not a secret, that it used to happen for no reason.

Well NVC usually takes 2-3 months, but Embassy does it fairly quickly. Hence, the issue.

Well update on case. Now it takes 2-3 months of extra processing : extra vetting to be precise and hence the reason for delay. Hope this info helps. Also, the medical has changed and now you are required to go additional urine culture test which takes 7 days to complete after they have taken your urine. So, you also need to wait 7 days + to be issued with a visa after medical. Good luck to all !
