2017 filers - can you check status on USCIS site outside USA?

We received the NOA1 hard copy letter last week, with the "WAC" numbers. I (beneficiary, in the foreign country) have been trying to go on the USCIS website to check the status but it never loads and just times out. I had been trying for the past two days with the same result.. so today I decided to ask my fiance to check from his end - I was thinking maybe an IP address outside the USA is unable to access this information. It turns out he WAS able to see the case status without any issues! I went back to the USCIS website again, and still, it does not work.

Has this been the case for everyone or is something just off on my end? (I'm in a place with perfectly working internet - it just won't let me access USCIS case tracker. The rest of the website seems fine for the most part.)

Where are you checking from and it doesn't work? I've tried it from some overseas IPs without issue, but that's no guarantee it works from everywhere.

I'm in Taiwan. I just tried accessing the page via free online VPN website and it worked through that portal. It (still) does not work when I try to access it directly on my browser. I guess for some reason the case status tracker is blocked  Thank you though!

Alright, I never tried from Taiwan. I can't find anything off-hand suggesting there is a block, though. But since you found an answer, it's all the same. Thanks for the update.

I'm from the UK and i've been able to check it okay... have you tried it on a different computer/or on your phone?

~~moved to USCIS service centers from K1 process and procedures.  Topic is not asking about K1 process but about USCIS issue~~

 

Do you have an ad blocker or something else that may be blocking the website?

In the Netherlands is no problem, if you have slow interne ttry using a cable instead of wifi.

Not the same issue, but similar. We received our acceptance and reciept number letter on Nov 8, but have not been able to pull anything up at all. Keeps telling us "case not found". Every time we've contacted customer support, get the same answer - 5 to 7 months to process, and there's a glitch in the online case status feature...

I was able to  check from Russia, however it might have been due to using a proxy DNS server (It's how I view program episodes on network tv websites)
