Question about wife-sponsored GC and work-sponsored PERM

My US citizen wife applied for my GC in October last year. I have received work authorization and my 485/130 are in process. I am done with biometrics.

 

Now my workplace wants to start my PERM process. It was halted a year back due to layoffs etc.

 

Now what should I do? Do I let my work lawyers know that my GC is in progress?

You are fully legal to work with your EAD. If you want to then let them know it shouldn't really matter. The document you will use to verify your authorization will still be your EAD for now.

You might feel better knowing that your EAD is automatically extended for 180 days under new rules starting in January, as long as you apply for the extension within 90 days of the expiration of your present card. But who knows you might have your GC by then
