NVC TAKES FOREVER

Hello,

We submitted all the financial and supporting documents to NVC, along with DS 260 in November 2016. Scan date was Nov, 23rd. Now it's February and we still haven't heard anything from NVC. Every time we call,  their only response is " the case is still under review". It's getting frustrating now to be honest. Any one else in the same boat? Per their website , NVC is only supposed to take 6 weeks to review the documents, however, in our case it has been more than 12 weeks How long more do we have to wait. ?

Contact your local Congressperson! Same thing happened to me, but I located the Representative for my district using the link below and then called his office. They have staff dedicated to helping out with this. Right now the NVC processing time is 6 weeks. Since you are well past that time, their office can help by calling the NVC on your behalf and getting your case in front of a supervisor.

Also, once I called the Congressman's office, I heard from the NVC two days later. Unfortunately I forgot to include one document so we got a checklist. But if that had not been the case, the email from NVC would have said case completed, which is what I hope happens for you!

Okay. Thanks for letting me know. Just contacted the congressman. Lets see what happens next .

Hey. Yes, I contacted the congressman and it actually helped a lot. They called NVC and finally put our case in supervisor review. Unfortunately, after the supervisor review we got a checklist so were starting all over with our scan date But yeah I would definitely recommend getting in touch with your local congressman if your case is taking a long time!

oh no! may I ask what your checklist was for?  Happy to hear that contacting your congressman helped though, despite this bump in the road.
