Passport Name Change after Interview and AP

Hi good folks,

 

Our case has been in AP since mid-2016.

We've been asked to provide a new Police Certificate and Medical Report.

 

During this period in AP, we took the opportunity for my wife to change her last name to mine. We got her passport issued in the new married last name. 

 

We are planning to use the new passport with the name change for the new police certificate and medicals so that the visa can be issued in her new married last name.
What is your opinion on this? We are not sure if this might cause further delay. Is this likely to be a problem especially considering the fact that we attended the interview with her 'maiden name' passport?  Anybody with experience/knowledge concerning this should kindly share.

How long did it take to change your wife's name if you don't mind me asking. I am thinking of changing my spouse's name.

Took us just about 2 - 3 weeks. Could be less if you do it right.
