My spouse is in the US illegally. We applied for and were approved for an Unlawful Presence Waiver. We are waiting on the interview date to travel to Juarez. My question: are there any forms we will receive in the event/ likelihood that we drive through an Immigration checkpoint on the way to Juarez that would allow us to continue on our way? Or is it just safer to fly? I read people's information on their case, but haven't ready about the actual trip.

Jadabi where would you drive from, Orlando, FL?  In light of all that is currently happening with the apprehension and deportation of illegal immigrants, especially Latinos, I would look into flying once you schedule your interview date at the Consulate in Ciudad Juarez, Mexico.  If you're flying from MCO, check the Aerolineas Volaris website = https://www.volaris.com/ where you will have to fly to MEX [Mexico City], and then book separate ticketed flights from MEX to CJS.  Then again you could call or visit your local USCIS office and inquires as to safe passage documents that could be arranged though them for you to drive, and if stopped present documentation that would assure and allow you to continue safely to Ciudad Juarez.  There's no one right answer to your dilemma.  Best of luck in your Immigration Visa journey!

Hi. In my experience while traveling in the U.S. close to the border (CA, AZ and TX) the check points are situated in a way that they check people coming from Mexico to the U.S., rather than viceversa. The checkpoints are well marked, so you can plan your drive depending on their location. I'm sure it should be fine. But if you want to fly, going to Juarez could be the best option. Does he have a Mexican passport to fly into Mexico? Another airline that flies to CJS (Cd Juárez) is Internet. I used it last year to fly to Juarez and other trips. In my opinion it has better service and planes than Volaris. Best of luck during your interview. So happy to hear the waiver was approved.

The drive from FL to Cd Juarez was uneventful. I learned all the checkpoints are on the roads leading away from Cd Juarez, none toward, second I was told by BP that with all the documents, it is unlikely they would take the person into custody. We made it there and back no problem.
