I'm 29 (female) and my fiancé is 21 (male). He is from Russia and we met online a year ago. Last week we filed our i129f and I've never been more stressed in my life. I love him so much and I'm so worried about our age gap. I heard that a male being younger than a female is a huge red flag, is that correct? I can't even spend two weeks without seeing him. In just three months we took 3 trips to see each other. First I went to Russia to visit him then we met in Dominican Republic and after that we went to Mexico. I know that's a lot but thank God my job allows me to be away from home. We're about to leave for our next trip and after that I'm planning to come live with him in Russia for a while. So my question is do you think that age gap might get us denied? We just got our NOA1 and I know that even if we get NOA2 he still might get denied during the interview (which I'm planning to go to).

thank you

Rest assured you have absolutely nothing to worry about. An 8 year age difference is not a huge or unusual age gap. There are people here with 3x that age gap who have gotten approved with no problems. It is good that you two are traveling together to different countries like that. It gives you a chance to explore and experience different things together. No need to worry anymore about your ages and continue enjoying your relationship.

Best of luck to you!

8 years is nothing. I'm in that position too and nothing was even asked. The only skepticism they had at the interview was how my partner supported herself with such a big family. Which was easy to answer.

I second the previous posts. First of all, 8 years isn't such a big difference. Second, being Russian myself, I can assure you that in our culture it's not that rare such marriages. I personally know several couples where females senior to their husbands. There's absolutely no negative attitude to that from family or society perspective. Besides, you are in child bearing age, in your prime actually, hence there's nothing unnatural in your relationship.

Please, don't stress yourself too much, concentrate on having all your paperwork done accurately and preparing him for the new life in America. I am positive you'll be fine!
