2 errors in EDV - Should I attend the interview?

Hello,

unfortunately I have made two (mayor) errors in my original application form.

1. I did not mention my middle name, I know that  is a "high-risk" error.

2. As it that were not enough, I accidentally wrote the city where I live instead of the city where I was born in the eDV.

How could that happen? Well, I have no idea. I was really ill at the time i filled out the application, maybe that's why.

My interview will take place in Frankfurt, Germany and I am German. I know there is not really an explanation how you would forget to mention your middle name and a wrong birthplace, but I can't turn back the clock.

The other error, well, the city I accidentally mentioned as my birthplace appears on the front page of my passport right next to my birthplace due to the fact that the cities citizen of that city center issued my passport,. I live there for 4 years now. Both cities appear on all documents (certificate of good conduct etc., )

I am aware that the chance of a disqualification is extremely high,so does it even make sense to attend the interview?

I might add that the DS-260 is 100% accurate and that my application is quite strong. Also I immediately wrote KCC to ask them if they could flag my case to prove there is no second entry with my name and photo.

Thanks and greetings...

Hard to tell... you don't come from a high fraud-risk area, so that's in your favor.

its my impression - so take it as no more authoritative than that - that an error in birthplace in the same country isn't a huge issue. The leaving out of the middle name is more worrying.

i guess you'll have to decide if the risk of the few hundred dollars interview fee plus medical cost is worth the risk ...how badly do you want to relocate to the US?

Okay, thanks for your answer. Do you know a similar case?

I really want to relocate to the US, so I guess I will give it a try, as it's a one in a life chance.

During the interview I will be as honest as possible and tell the CO right away about those two errors.

Give it a go and see, let us know how it goes.

I will do it. on 17th I will have my Interview in Frankfurt, Germany.

I can explain the error with the wrong city of birth, I even have documentation to proof that.  But I don't really know how to explain the error with the missing middle name, there is not really an explanation for it. I think i just rushed through the eDV. Additionally, if I am not mistaken, I suffered from a food poisoning, but i don't have a doctor's certificate or something like that. I was in Costa Rica the time I've made the eDV.

Well, I think what might safe me is that I immediately reported KCC of the two errors, so there was enough time to make a second check for duplicate entries with my dates.
