Being denied entry at the airport

Has anyone from Ukraine heard of anyone that had got denied entry to the states after getting their K1 approved? And what the reason was? My fiancé in Ukraine has heard about a few people not with K1 however not being able to come and someone from my church came back without his finance. Its making me really worried....

Anyone coming to the US is subject to being turned away by immigrations. It is up to them to determine whether to allow entry into the US.

 

Technically only US citizens are guaranteed entry.

 

As for K-1 entry denials, it has happened, whether from confusion by the immigrations about that visa, or they were trying to bring something into the US they shouldn't have, acting suspicious/crazy at immigrations, ect..

 

The chance of it happening on a K-1 visa I would think are pretty low these days.

Yes, it's possible. It's always possible on any visa, GC, ESTA, etc.

 

That said, in general, with an immigrant visa is that you will not be denied unless there is a reasonable expectation that you're doing or have done something that is of concern to CBP. Like, you can't get married then enter on a K-1, which people have tried. You can't bring in prohibited substances or other dangerous objects. If you obtained your visa legitimately and still maintained the terms of the visa at POE, you should be fine.

We had one member here, I cannot remember if they were from Russia or Ukraine, where CBP at the border suspected they got married between visa issuance and the flight over, and denied entry.  But it is very rare.

ok thank you so much! I was getting worried that they are starting to deny because of Trumps 120 day ban. My dad said a friend of a friend got a call from Kiev saying to hold off their flight because of the ban but later on got a phone call that its ok to come so they just recently arrived at the states.

Who knows what is going to happen an even an hour from now, but there's nothing currently in place affecting you in terms of the EO (let lone that the EO is on hold for at least a couple months).

There was a guy here on a K1 from the UK who was denied entry, but that was under Obama.

Did he say why they denied him? 

I dont see any reason why my fiance would get denied we have no reason to be denied im just worried they could deny just because....
