hi guys, im new here. my name is marieke, im from holland and my sweet fiance thomas is in galveston, tx. we are engaged  and just about to start the K1 process. its been quite a struggle deciding what we want, but the outcome is now the K1. Reading lots of horror stories but we are hoping for the best.

my question is.. is the step by step guide completely up to date as that will be what we want to go from. are all the forms (like I-129F) also up to date.

thanks for this and im sure we'll have loads more questions along the process! :(

xx Marieke

Nothing has changed in the K-1 visa process, that guide is correct, we used it and had no problems. Always use the newest versions of the forms, the links in the guides point to where the USCIS keeps the most up to date forms.

Good Luck!

OUR TIME LINE Please do a timeline it helps us all, thanks.

Is now a US Citizen immigration completed Jan 12, 2012.

I followed it step by step and had no problems.

You can always get the forms directly from USCIS' site if you'd prefer to make sure you have the most up to date versions (the link to that site is on the guide).

marieke,

If you want the most up-to-date information and forms you should be getting them from the USCIS and DOS web sites.

Use sources like VJ to fill in the many information gaps with personal experiences, and to clarify what can be confusing 'official' information. (Although comparing different people's different experiences can also be confusing!)

The USCIS website is www.uscis.gov. Click on "Immigration Forms" and scroll down to I-129F, Petition for Alien Fiance(e). Click and download the .pdf form. READ ALL THE INSTRUCTIONS! That's the absolute best advice for anyone just beginning this process. (Same goes for reading the instructions on the G-325A, available in the same place.)

Good luck!

Welcome, I'm from Houston just north of Galveston, good luck with the process. I used this site to help fill out my forms, but make sure you read the directions in the forms and don't over think what they are telling you, you will just end making things harder than they really are. There are lots of helpful people here on the board.

AND lastly fill in your timeline and information as you start this process that is how the site generates all of its data!!!!

 be patient and enjoy!!

Humbly,

Ramos
