just an update:

my husband received his second medical for aos on march 23 (still not even a year after his first). since it was just under a year, he didn't have to do a TB test or chest xray or any of his vaccines. but since the last doctor who did his medical exam in london never gave him any paperwork, he had to get another blood test done. so that's a total of about $600 we've spent on medical exams and travel expenses.

we had to go back a week later to pick up the paperwork and sent it off 3/31. no response just yet, hopefully they won't ask for anything else.

hope there aren't many more people who have to get another medical...

I have a feeling we will be receiving an RFE any day now for another medical. My husband's medical exam expires the end of next week. I'm assuming insurance won't cover the cost.

Yep , you are assuming right. My wife had to have another one 2 days ago. Insurance will not pay any of it. The doctors office told us that right up front, same as last year. I called my insurance company yesterday and ask, they were very nice telling me No..

i don't think any of the doctor offices i spoke with would take insurance for the exam even if your insurance would cover it... i think something should be done about this; only because if someone looked at my husband's application long enough to notice how soon his medical would expire they could have just approved it. but no point in arguing...
