Does anyone know what it means when the Delbros website says shipment process in embassy with the date of the interview June 5?

Congratulations Mae!! There was never any doubt.

My Mae finished her medical yesterday. (I think she might have crossed paths with some here?) She said she didn't have any problems and everyone was very nice to her and made some friends. She was there 7:30-3:30 the first day and didn't finish until 3pm the second. I wish I had more useful information, but my impression with the medical there isn't too much to be concerned about, but then she doesn't have any nagging medical problems.

On to the interview!! Ughhh, more angst.

...would appreciate more if you could give me an idea on the breakdown of fees we still need to pay after I arrive in the US, e.g., SSN, TD shots, Civil surgeon, AOS, EAD, etc. etc. We need to put them down now in our budget.

thanks..thanks..thanks..

for AOS, after July 30th the fee will be $1010. that will include AOS fee ( I-485), EAD ( I-765), Advance Parole ( I-131)

and Biometrics.

there is no fee for your SSN.

Civil Surgeon, TD shot fees can vary. it pays to shop around. we paid $60 for TD shot and to have vaccination records transcribed to the I-693a.

Well so far so good with the medical exam, I think. Fely was in be 6 am and out by 2 pm. She mentioned the "getting naked" part, but it wasn't a problem. She'll go back again tomorrow for one more test and then her shots. They did try to tell her that it was too early for the exam, that its supposed to be one week before the interview. The instruction sheet says AT LEAST one week, so I assume the person that signed her in just didn't know what he was talking about.

Hi there StarProg, if I have read this thread before I went to St.Luke's today, I could have met your Fely :) . It's my second day though--for shots. Medical went fine, I guess, because I dont have to redo some tests anymore and I was told to proceed to 2nd floor already--which is for immunization area. No one asked me why am i taking my medical so early, it's a month before my interview, I just noticed that ladies at the reception doesnt smile at all, very serious people ;) Hope our upcoming interviews goes well too, let's pray to that

Hi Evan. It seems several VJ members have been at St. Luke's this week. Too bad a get together couldn't have been arranged. Well its now 3 hours since Fely showed up for her shots, and I haven't heard from her yet. Don't know if that's a good or bad sign, I suppose it doesn't really mean anything, because of all the waiting that goes on. Well I hope she texts me soon to say all went well, because I need to make my plane reservations right away. i just checked and seats on the flight I want went from about $1300 to about $2300. The day before is still $1300. Waiting, waiting...

Got a few answers (this reminds me of imaskin because I always wanna write imatellin... hehehehe):

1. When is I-864 required?

The I-864 (Affidavit of Support) is required when submitting the I-485 (Adjustment of Status Application) for the Adjustment of Status (AOS) process and must be accomplished after the petitioner and beneficiary marry in the United States.

2. Can I already work if I already have SSN?

Absolutely NOT! Working prior to your AOS approval is prohibited and is grounds for deportation, per US Immigration Laws. Besides, a SSN is not even required to apply and/or complete the AOS process.

3. I understand that EAD is no longer required to apply for SSN but I can only have EAD during AOS. Am i right?

Yes! The EAD is issued during the AOS process and at no other time .

4. I need to know when can i exactly start working?

The beneficiary is permitted to work:

1. When the beneficiary's EAD application (I-765) is approved and the EAD Card has been received or

2. two, when the AOS is approved and the green card is received.

The Green Card "Permanant Residency Card" supercedes the EAD Card and Advance Parole permiting the now Permanant Resident to work and travel outside the United States.

Cheers!!!

Sheriff Uling

and 'imalaughin'

by the way, kuya sheriff do you know the answer to my question....who will apply for my SSN me or my fiance? and he's still in the warzone in the first month that i will get to the states.

thank you.

Imaskin...

You may apply for the SSN. Your fiance does not have to be present for that... or you can wait until he arrives. Remember, if you want to have it done before applying for the AOS then you will have to do it at the least a month or more before the I-94 expires or they will not process your request for a SS Card until after your AOS is approved.

Cheers!!!

Success, thanks. Medical results received and all tests passed. Only 2 shots, geeze I had to have 3 shots plus some oral medicine the first time I went to the Philippines. Okay I'll be booking my flight as soon as Fely decides how long she wants to wait before flying here after the visa.

Hello JeffK,

If your fiancee was not subjected to re x-ray or any additional laboratories, you have nothing to worry. Maybe there were so many clients that's why she finished her medical till 3pm.

hi everyone!

just want to ask some info regarding what documents i need to bring with me at the airport when me and my kids will leave for the US, aside of course from our visas. I have three kids and i was never married to their father and the birth certificates of my kids don't list their father's name. I know I don't need any DSWD clearance to take my kids out of the country. But i have read somewhere that at the NAIA airport, the Immigration people would ask for birth certificates and CENOMAR from me to confirm i have custody of my kids and don't need father's consent? I just want to know if this is true, especially from those with K2 children, what were your experiences about this? And if they do need those documents, would they require originals or just photocopies?

I don't have yet our visas but I just want to prepare all the documents I may need as early as possible. Thanks!

I left Manila for the USA last March 4 on fiancee visa with my two boys aged 12 and 16 and the Immigration officer at Manila airport asked me for DSWD Clearance. I replied that it is no longer necessary if they are accompanied by one parent and I showed her the DSWD circular. She seemed surprised, then she asked me for the birth certificate and the annulment papers showing I have custody of the childen. I showed the originals and after a few minutes, she allowed us to travel.

It pays to handcarry original docs which you may not want to lose if your luggage gets misplaced or lost in transit. Also, remember the ear drops and some meds for nausea for the long flight.

I also brought some of the regular meds the children are used to because it takes about 1-2 months before you can get the children to their pedia, and medical consultation and hospitalization is more expensive in the USA as compared to the Philippines.

Bring something to keep them company during the plane ride, nothing with batteries though.

See you in the USA

How much does the terminal fee at NAIA? thanks.

Terminal fee = p500.00

Security fee = p250.00

Travel tax -> Economy Class = p1620.00

-> First Class = p2700.00

So, if you're travelling on Economy Class => you will be paying a total of p2370.00 and if you're travelling First Class, that will be p3450.00.

Does anyone know what it means when the Delbros website says shipment process in embassy with the date of the interview June 5?

That means your Visa/papers is still at USEM and hasn't been released to Delbros (for delivery).
