Case Number: mnl2006******

Visa Classification: CR1

St. Luke's Appointment Date: Wednesday, June 20, 2007 (12:00:00 AM)

Embassy Appointment Date: Wednesday, June 20, 2007 (8:30:00 AM)

This is what what i got from the visa interview appointment website. Is that right?or do i have to call them to make the appointment?

the medical is usually scheduled one week before the interview. the medical can be done before the scheduled date. interview is the important one. you may want to call the Embassy to verify the dates.

That is similar to what I got for my CR-1 appointment. St. Luke's June 28 12:00 am, Embassy June 28 6:30 am. Apparently they don't actually make St. Luke's appointments for CR-1 visas. Just take a printout of appointment date to St. Luke's, they should let you take the medical without an appointment.

Delbros said the delivery could be anytime between 8am and 5pm. I've been poking my head out the door looking down the drive for a sign of the courier. If I've looked once I've looked a hundred times - maybe more. We're hoping it arrives soon so we can go get the CFO stamp. Then we can finally relax. :)

Lina's visa packet was just delivered by Delbros approximately 3:35pm.:dancing: Too late to go to the CFO for the stamp on the passport but that's okay since the visa is in hand. We'll do the CFO stamp tomorrow.

Good luck to you starprog. Us ilocano have to stick together, hehe. So how is learning ilocano going for you?

Ha ha, I'm terrible at learning new words. Every time I visit, the kids teach me the words for all the animals and plants and food, etc. But by the time I've returned home I've forgotten most of them. I rely a lot on my dictionaries and the online dictionaries. But whenever I try to write something to Fely in Ilocano or Tagalog, she'll say "Hon, where did you get those words? Its all wrong, but I know what you are trying to say." So I guess the answer to your question is, I'm doing terrible with learning Ilocano. But I will insist once she gets here that she'll teach me, because I really want to be able to talk to my wife without anyone else knowing what we're saying.

Thank you. I have to say the feeling is more one of relief rather than joy or happiness. The worst part of this process is the unknown and being in near total limbo the entire time. To have the wost part over with is a huge weight off of our shoulders. Now just the CFO sticker and POE and adjustment of status and work authorization. Does it ever end? ;) No biggie, the rest of the process we'll be together so I don't mind it.

Good luck to you starprog. Us ilocano have to stick together, hehe. So how is learning ilocano going for you?

Funny you should say that. I'm trying to learn some Tagalog so I can communicate with my wife's friends and family that don't know English. It never occurred to me the benefit of being able to speak in a language very few others in the US would understand. That's more motivation! Lina is Ilocano too by the way. :)

Good luck to you in the interview. If Lina or I can be of assistance feel free to PM or Email me and I'll be glad to help.

Just a quick question... Is two weeks enough time to allow receipt of visa (after interview) from embassy and delbros? or should I book flights to allow more time for visa to arrive?

In the quote above you are specifically stating that the petitioner needs to submit paystubs, could you please reference a document where paystubs are requested by the embassy?

I hope you cannot produce the document that I requested, but if you do I guess I will have to write an explanation letter about the amounts that are deduced from my paycheck.

CountryBoy,

I'm happy to tell you that the paystub is not referenced. But we've had a few cases where these were requested by interviewer. Since everything is case-to-case basis, it is wise to bring as many ammunition as possible to avoid AR.

The main document for the I-134 that the embassy will look for is the ITR (Form 1040) and W2 to evaluate ability to support your fiancee. If you make well above poverty guidelines, embassy will not ask for more proof of financial capability. However, if one's income is borderline, that is when the embassy starts scrutinizing the petitioner more closely. There's a 50-50 chance that the case will be put in AR. The Filipina fiancee will now need to convince embassy that she will not become public charge. She says, "oh but he's making good money now." Embassy replies with "show me proof. I wanna see his employment letter." If consul is convinced, he will stop asking for more evidence. But if he is having bad hair day, then he will ask for more proof of financial capability and will ask for paystubs (to check if it matches with employment letter and to calculate your new annual gross) and if he is still not convinced, he will ask for more evidence of other assets like bank accounts, 401K, real estate, etc. Manila embassy is tough when it comes to petitioner's income. A number of people here have been put in AR because of this.

In your case, since your paystubs show a lower income because of the deductions, the strategy is for your fiancee to just show your ITR and W2 first. Embassy will only see your GROSS pay and tax deductions. Since you make 4x the poverty guidelines, this should be enough to convince embassy of your financial capability. From what you posted, I don't think you will not have a problem with your I-134. Your W2 and ITR should be enough but keep your reserve ammunitions handy during interview.

PW

p.s. Hey gang, I will update the list when I am feeling less tired. I'm off to dreamland now zzzzzzzz

hi everybody,

i'm a newbie here in the manila embassy thread. this is my first post though i have been lurking here for a long time now. we just got our NOA2 on May 3 and received our MNL case number from NVC on May 14. I was expecting my interview would be scheduled 3-4 months from now. But I was really surprised when i checked the US embassy appointment schedule and found out that I was already scheduled for medical appointment on July and my interview date will be on July 11. I'm kind of shocked right now since me and my fiancee has not really started gathering all the documents we need. Now, my question is when do you think i could receive my packet 4. If i want to have an early medical appointment, could i go there even if i haven't receive yet my medical and interview appointment letter from the embassy. My fiancee hasn't receive yet our NOA2 hardcopy in the mail so i can't even show that. I'm panicking now. so much to do.. so little time!

thanks!

You can print the US Embassy appointment schedule and bring it with her for her medical. She can have an early medical (before July 3). She can also ask for an appointment packet pick-up at SLEC by calling SLEC (although their lines are always busy). Good uck!

I also have my Medical and Interview date on the same day (April 20). I had my medical 1 month before my interview. JUst show the appointment schedule/appointment packet for SLEC medical. You need not call USEM to make an appointment, just show up at USEM on that day and come early, maybe 5 or 6 am, the lines will be long by that time. GOOD LUCK!!!

Well i have an easier time learning tagalog then ilocano. You figure that hawaii is 85 to 9o percent ilocano here, I should know some by now. I only know the bad words, hehe. My fiance said learning tagalog is fine for now, since it is the basis of the national language. So I speak some bizzaro form of tagalish, which is more english than tagalog. Hmm nice to see some ilocanos here. By the way I am not filipino, just have many friends who are, since where i live is over 50% filipino here.

:crying: I sent off my affidavit of support and other documents Fedex Saturday (on the truck to be delivered already, awesome!). I don't know how, but even after checking it, I think I blew it. On question 10. That I have submitted a visa petition(s) to U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) on behalf of the following person(s). If none, state none.

I stated: None

Ummmm, do I need to do it again, get it notarized, and rushed to the Philippines before June 5?

I have the same question... In our case, we used the sample form here in VJ and on that particular question, instead of 'NONE" we wrote: MAE XXXXX XXXXX (now filing for K1 Visa)... Can somebody enlighten us please?

Thanks!
