What should I do? It has been over 48 hours now since I have heard anything related to her.I have no choice but to feel that I have been used. We were married in the Philippines on December 29, 2005. Do I file for divorce here in USA? I have emailed my attorney, but no response. I think he is only good at cashing checks. He was a major waste of $3000 for sure. Did she do this just to get here in the USA? If so, how can she stay? We had not applied for AOS. I don't like being used and want to know where she is.

Have you cancelled her cell phone account yet? You should. You can probably expect that the bill will be extremely large by now. There is nothing for you or an immigration attorney to do regarding her status--that's on her and there is nothing you can change.

Yes you can file for divorce in the US.

If you have any other joint accounts, close them. You need to protect yourself from further abuse.

I haven't filed a missing persons report as of yet. She contacted her cousin in the Philippines and told her to contact me. I have to assume that she is okay and is not interested in any contact with me.

Glenn, this is just so sad. I know that this is a difficult time for you and I hope and pray that you find the strength and courage to face whatever it is that lies ahead. I hope that you will continue to let us know here how you are doing. Has your lawyer made any contact with you yet?

Hang in there! We're just a computer away if you need someone to talk to.

Glenn,

I would start with a missing person report with your local police. They will not tell you where she is if she is located because she is an adult, but they can tell you that she was located and she just chooses not to have contact with you. I know it will hurt, but at least then you will know for sure what is the status of your relationship. Not knowing now where she is or her mental state makes you wonder if she really wants out, or just wants space and is going about it the wrong way. Just my opinion, but talking about divoricing a woman you love so dearly when you haven't explored all options to find her and get her back seems premature, but maybe I dont have all the facts. You need to know what her intentions are for sure and that is one way to know....assuming the cops can find her through her cousin. I get the feeling her family knows where she is, but just isn't telling....but maybe would let a police officer talk to her just to know she is okay. Also, if she does try to leave the country to go home, she will be flagged at any airport trying to leave the country. So again....you may not know where she is, but at least you will know she is okay and is just choosing for whatever reason to end the relationship in a very wrong way....given the facts we know.

Sorry to hear of this and I pray all will be well, one way or another.

Scott

Hi again everyone

how many weeks or days can a CENOMAR be released if i get one. I heard it is one month from the date you requested. thanks. i hope someone will answer me. thank you again.

CENOMAR; if you apply online on e-census it takes not longer than 6 days, much faster. But if you apply in the NSO office it takes 2 full weeks, mine takes 3 weeks because of the holy week.

Just correction on my first post..

CENOMAR; if you apply online on e-census it takes not longer than 6 days costs P400, much faster. But if you apply in the NSO office it takes 2 full weeks it costs P180, mine takes 3 weeks because of the holy week. I had to get both because the one from e-census has the wrong birthplace and i couldn't have it corrected, thus wasting P400, it was confusing when you fill out online where to put birthplace, so to make sure i went to the NSO office and secure another copy.

I guess depends on the NSO branch. I never knew i could get it the same day if that's possible here in Manila then how come i didnt know it i even talked to the officer to release it faster than 3 weeks but they wont but i didn't offer any red tape i don't have to i believe since i still have enough time. CENOMAR no need to have authenticated at the Malacañang as far as I know

Thanks Mike_Marivic for the reply :) I'm going to NSO tomorrow to request for cenomar and my birth certifcate :star:

1) Most ITRs are filed on-line nowadays and do not require signatures (someone correct me if I'm wrong). Therefore, my take on this is that if fax copy is acceptable to the embassy as written in the packet and their website, then (I hope I am assuming correctly that) an ITR filed on-line and therefore downloaded from an IRS website is more reliable. I am putting this to the test during my interview on Friday. I will be using a downloaded 1040 and PDF copy of W2. The worst that can happen to me is to be put in AR but I have waited so long that waiting another month is not a big deal to me anymore <sour-graping> hehe

2) A bank statement needs to be signed by a bank officer. He can request the bank for certification by phone-call, e-mail or snail mail. He will probably be charged $30!!!! so the bank will need his authorization for this. He should not forget to tell the bank where to mail the certification as it might be mailed to his last known address listed with the bank.

Thank you sooo much for your reply Patiently Waiting.. Please kindly let me know if they'll accept the downloaded forms.. And God bless on your interview on friday.

You were never a mistake. You were my realization.

I applied for CENOMAR thru internet since I didn't have time to travel and get caught up on long queuing. It cost me Php300 per copy and it was delivered one week after I paid for it at the bank. But as Gracy have said it, it usually takes one day to get a copy at NSO.

Mae

How many copy of CENOMAR and BC did you request?

Julie

I don't know what happened here? I am in shock and a little intoxicated. My wife went for a bike ride this morning at 9:30am and never came back. All she took was her money, jewels and passport. I received an email from her cousin in the Philippines 8 hours later that said my wife is safe and for me to move on with my life. I am in shock. I married her in the Phils 18 months ago, she was here 1 day short of two months and she is gone. Day after day she said she was depressed and homesick. The only disagreement we had was yesterday. It was about her $1028.00 cell phone bill where she had been calling the Philippines at $3.00 a minute instead of using our landline international service.

I don't know if I have been used or what. I am just in shock and have nobody to talk with.

Glenn

So sorry to hear this Glenn, I know this must be a tremendous shock. I don't know what I would do if I were in your shoes at the moment other than try and locate her and let her know you love her and want what is best for her. Maybe for now you can try and chat with her family back home and let them all know how you feel and that you are worried about Rosemaria's safety. Soon she will have to come back and talk about this with you, because you are both married, for Christ's sakes!!!! I know you have done all you can do for now, we will be praying with you for her return. You will come out of this a stronger man I really believe.

I love her with all my heart. I treated her like a princess and I gave her a beautiful home to live in. Maybe our cultural differences keep me from understanding this? I just don't understand why? I have emailed her, but no response. I don't know where she is.

Glenn I feel so bad for you man, I read your pass posting about her and had a feeling it would come to this point.

At this time sure you dont know the whole story, but i agree with others that you need to protect your self.

I think if she will contact you, maybe she will tell you her story.

But at this point it we dont want to make up stories of what we THINK she is doing!

Good luck my friend!

Hello to all, i know this question is already asked but i just can't find the right thread and am a lil lazy looking for it  ... anyway, my question is: Is it ok if I only have a computer printed copy of my husband's Form 1040(ITR)? Actually it is his copy of his ITR when he filed the tax online. Just want to make sure i have the right documents. Hoping for your response... Thanks a lot!

For my interview on Friday, I will be using a computer print-out (TurboTax) of my fiance's Form 1040 and a PDF copy of his W2. His 1040 has a Declaration Control Number and date of acceptance by TurboTax. I will let you know if embassy will accept that.

Is it ok to submit photocopies of my fiancee's ITRs? He doesn't have the transcripts... and he's not comfortable in sending the original ITR forms he filed for the last 3 years...

Mae

What I'm thinking it doesn't matter what is the form of ( photocopy, transcript...) your ITR. what the CO is concerned with is your income level. They may already have our income levels from the government databases. I submited copies of my W-2's, pay check stubs, letter from employer and IRS Tax Transcripts. those who are self employed or using assets should have documentation to back up their income.

Thank you for the replies!!! It makes me feel better that what i have is ok based on what you pals said here.

PatientlyWaiting: Thank you really and please do let me know. And ohh kindly add me in the list too:
