However, I have not paid the visa fee of $100 yet since my passport is in the process of renewal. DS-156 requires the passport details. I will only get to pay the visa fee this Friday. I hope I am not in trouble. Is everything fine?

Please note that DS-157 is the form that will be validated by BPI and not DS-156. BPI has their own supply of DS-157 and they will validate a blank DS-157 hence passport details are not necessary.

Do I need to have second dose of MMR and Varicella here in US?..Some of my friends said YES and other said NO. All I remembered St. Luke told me is I will have my TD here in the US..

In my case, the nurse who handed me my vaccination sheet instructed me to get a second dose of Varicella after 8 weeks and to get my TD shot in the US.

When you go for your TD shot, maybe you can ask the Civil Surgeon to interpret your vaccination record and then he can decide whether you should get a 2nd dose of Varicella.

my fiancee told me that when she was at the CFO, she heard a 20 year old girl there tell some of the other girls that she was just using the 63 yr old guy she was with to get to the states.

I feel sorry for the guy she is marrying. No wonder Manila is considered high fraud.

Thanks PW for the advice.

Your advices are so helpful to everybody...pls give me your inputs on my post about medical...thanks.

btw, my fiance had a typo on my middle name..He called the embassy before and was advised that i shouldjust tell and correct it on my interview...do you have other inputs about it?

For those who have gone through the medical already...

How does the procedure goes? I am worried right now, my medical is scheduled on may 15 but m planning to have it on the 10th but i noticed a mass on my left neck/lower left ear...i dont want to have it removed as of this moment coz it might create more questions if they see it cut...but if doctors wont check or touch that area...they might not notice it...i think it only came from stress...i had an xray and it was clear....

i need your advice coz i am really sooo worried...

thanks.

Keep in mind they are mostly concerned in making sure you don't have an infectious disease of public health significance like TB or HIV. Try not to worry to much. Sheryl told me afterword if she new how easy and simple the medical was she wouldn't have worried so much before hand. God Bless.

All that is necessary for the triumph of evil is that good men do nothing.

1. how do we know that our case has been received by NVC?

- The case number will be assigned before your package is sent to the USE via electronic and snail mail. Have the USC (petitioner) call (the number is within my signature) or email your inquiry at NVCINQUIRY@state.gov (be sure to include the beneficiary's name, date of birth, place of birth, and receipt number).

2. but how come others got their notice that case has been received by NVC thru email?

- The NVC may or may not send the USC (petitioner) a letter indicating the case number and date sent to the USE. It takes the NVE approximately 14 - 30 days processing time. So tack on another two weeks to send the USC (petitioner) a letter (if they send one).

3. how do we know our case number that starts with MNL?

- Yes, (I believe) that all Manila Embassy cases begin with MNL. It will be clearly indicated on the letter or told to you over the phone by the NVC or USE.

4 what does the SO, CFO and AR stands for?

- SO (I can't remember)

- CFO (Commission on Filipinos Overseas) Please review the guide and check out my signature block, click on Manila or Cebu, whichever is closest to you. You'll need to attend the Guidance and Counseling Seminar in order to receive a certificate (you can do this at anytime but you will not be able to travel to the US without doing this). Take the Guidance and Counseling Certificate to the CFO once you have your visa to get a sticker placed within your visa. Then you are free to travel to the US to start your new life.

- AR (Adminstrative Review) - You don't want to know about this... This basically means that your visa approval is on hold until further investigation or information is supplied and/or gathered on your case.

Hope this helps

Hi Everyone! Mirasol is at her CFO seminar now in Manila so I am sitting in an internet cafe down the street waiting as they do not allow the Fiance to attend or even wait inside. I guess I understand that, but would be nice if they had a waiting area. Oh well....

CONGRATULATIONS Scott and Mirasol!:dance::dance: Thank you for sharing the interview experience! Very encouraging!!!

Here's to both of you!:thumbs::thumbs: Best wishes and have a happy married life very soon!

David and Mae

Thank you so much! I was happy to share our experience and hope maybe in some small way it will help. I know its shorter on details then some. Good luck to you on your upcoming June interview!

Updating to congratulate Scoot & Mirasol (Skeeter211) and to welcome happyinlove to the list.

Thanks Cora. As has been said, your assistance to this thread is invaluable.

Congrats guys!

Another couple with a happy ending :dance::dance:

Lira your next, I hope all of us will have a happy ending like this with no AR's.

Thanks for the Congrats! You two have been so nice and we really appreciate all your kinds words. Good luck on the 18th! Your time is getting really close. One thing I remembered too is while we were sitting in the waiting area to be called was that an older white guy came out (appeared to be an embassy employee and I suspect a consul) and was walking around. He looked at me and must have seen the nervousness all over my face. :P He smiled at me and said, "Don't worry...it will all be over soon." I thought that was nice of him. It's true also...the interview is over in a moment and then all the nervousness passes and relief sets in. Keep looking forward to that feeling of relief as you're waiting.

Congratulations Scott and Mirasol!

Wow thats a good start for us May Batch...

Thanks for sharing your wonderful interview experience.

Thank you for the congrats! I agree...its a GREAT start to May! :P

Congratulations to Scott and Mirasol :dance::luv::star: have a joyful life together.

Good luck to all of us who are May batch :luv:

~God speed

Thank you also! We really value all of the support we have gotten and continue to receive here at VJ.

Wow, Lira is next on PW's list, I can't wait, I am taking off work because i know i won't sleep the night before.

Good luck Chad and Lira!!! You can do it! I understand the missed day of work. As someone told me here....Breathe, Chad, Breathe!

Do I need to show the appointment letter when paying the $100 visa fee to the bank? or just the DS 157?

thanks.

No need for an appointment letter. Just go to the bank (BPI or Citibank in the list) and tell them you need to pay the fee for USA visa. They will give you a validated (blank) DS-157 and receipt for the payment. You will have to re-fill that form again.

My interview won't happen until next month and yet I'm already suffering from anxiety attacks. I'm having a hard time breathing for almost a week now. My fiance advised me to stop worrying but it's easier said than done. I know I should relax a little as our documents and requirements for the interview are looking great, but it's really hard when it's your lifetime happiness is what at stake. I would be so glad and thankful once all these are over.

To all who are about to take a seat on the infamous "hot seat", well wishes for you and may you have successful interview! As for us who are set for next month... let's hope and pray that everything will go smoothly and favorably!

God bless us all!

Mae

Question time again....cuz I am an impatient kind of guy....as if you couldn't figure that out already!

I just inputed our visa tracking number into the Delbros site and its said no record found. :o Does that mean there is a problem or it just takes a day or so to be inputed in their system? I never did like waiting for things. :P

Thanks in advance!
