Hello....

Mirasol seems to think that the Baptismal Certificate is a required document, but I dont see it listed in any of the paperwork. Can anyone confirm or deny if a Baptismal Certificate is required in the Manila Embassy for a K1 applicant?

Thanks.

I feel sad reading about the trials that Glenn and sillygirl are currently going through. My thoughts and prayers are with you both. Sillygirl, please accept my heartfelt and deepest condolences. I hope you are comforted by the thought that your Mom now resides with God in heaven.

Glenn, I am still in disbelief at what I read. If you can make contact with Rosemarie's cousin, ask her if she can request Rosemarie to call you or to write you an email so she can explain herself. It's the least Rosemarie can do. Although we can only hope and pray for Rosemarie to come to her senses, you may also have to prepare yourself for any possibility.

Be strong and keep the faith Glenn and sillygirl.

Hello Sheriff,

Thankyou for the informative posting. One quick question..Does the NVC send you a letter with your DOS/embassy case number once they get the NOA2 approval from USCIS? I have recieved an email notification from the USCIS website of NOA2 approval as well as my online account there was updated to reflect this. I understand it now shifts to Dept of State (NVC, embassy) just wondering how or when might I get the case number so I can check interview/medical appointment status.

Thankyou

Hi Scott,

The baptismal certificate is not a required document, but it has been recommended for anyone with a late registered birth certificate. School records are also useful in this case, to help prove that your name has not changed since you were born. My wife was born in '69 but she did not register her birth until 1992, so I am having her bring her baptismal certificate to her interview.

Thanks to everyone for caring. This is one of the most difficult things I have ever went through in my life. I don't really know what to think. I think at this point that I was used, but I am not sure. I contacted my attorney via email twice, but he has not contacted me back. We had not applied for AOS as of yet.

As for contacting my wifes cousin, I hesitate to do that as in my opinion she is a bad person through and through. She is married to an American in Arizona that is 45 years older than her. When he is in Arizona, she cheats on him. I didn't only assume this, but my wife told me this to be fact.

At this point, I guess I am still in shock. I treated my wife like a princess and loved her like a man should love his wife. I just don't know what else I can do now.

Once USCIS has approved your case, it will be forwarded to NVC immediately. It is best to contact NVC two weeks after your approval date to get the MNL case number. You can also email them since getting a hold of a live person at NVC is kind of frustrating and difficult especially during busy hours. If calling them and emailing them didn't work for you, I guess you can just wait for their mail (snail mail) notification. Normally, you'll receive a letter from NVC informing you that your petition has been forwarded here in Manila consulate.

Good luck!

And again, someone correct me if I'm wrong :luv:

Hi everyone :)

I know how I-134 is important for my interview, but i did not receive one from my fiance who is currently deployed in Iraq. Is it alright that his Dad will be our co-sponsor? I only have his 2005 income tax return and W-2 form...will that be accepted? my interview will be on May this year.

thank you :)

I am also going through a difficult time right now. I was visiting with a childhood friend from the Phils. yesterday when I got the call that my mom was rushed to the hospital. After a couple of hours, got the most devastating news of all. My mom didn't make it. I am trying to make arrangements to go back to the Phils as soon as I can book a flight.

I do have some questions... I know I need to book the ticket in my maiden name as that's what's in my passport. But on the return trip, will I have a problem checking in (for the flight from the Philippines and clearing immigration here) with my passport and my greencard having different names?

Any info would be great (especially from the old timers here who still drop by every now and then). I'm sorry to dampen the happy atmosphere here but I didn't know which forum to post this.

My deepest condolence to you and your family in Manla sillgirl. Yes, you need to buy ticket in your maiden name bcos thats the way its written in your passport, About the greencard not same name in your passport, you need to bring your copy of marriage certificate, to show proof of married status to satisfy the marriedname in your GC.

have a safe trip. Me & family is due to visit Manila again too on May, when my 2 kids are off to school, we will be in Manila for 2 months.

Godbless!

I agree with Gary (StarProg). Baptismal Certificate would be secondary proof of identity if birth registration is late or if there is a discrepancy in BC name and passport name. Otherwise, it is not required by the embassy.

The US fiance is ALWAYS the primary sponsor. If there is a co-sponsor, both the US fiance and the co-sponsor will EACH have to fill out the affidavit I-134 and EACH will have to provide supporting documentation.

Ask your fiance to at least send you the notarized I-134 then bring this to your interview together with his 2005 ITR and W2 (if 2006 is not available). The embassy has always shown leniency towards the military men (especially those deployed in the war zones) and might accept your fiance's 2005 W2 and ITR in addition to the I-134. Do not go to the interview without the I-134 or you will be put in AR.

Trakon2002...

Q - Does the NVC send you a letter with your DOS/embassy case number once they get the NOA2 approval from USCIS (just wondering how or when might I get the case number so I can check interview/medical appointment status)?

A - Yes, the NVC does send the petitioner a letter indicating that your case has been forwarded to the USE, which states your case number. Like many things about this process, the petitioner may or may not receive a written notification. You may call the NVC (the number is listed within my signature) or email at NVCINQUIRY@state.gov. If you email the NVC, please be sure to include your name, USCIS Receipt number, the beneficiary's name, and the beneficiary's DOB. Be patient because it usually takes the NVC around three to seven business days to respond, but they will get back to you. As far as checking for your interview/medical appointment status, you will also need to be patient in that regards as well. It is estimated that your interview/medical appointment will not be scheduled for approximately 90 - 120 days, and the Manila Embassy does not schedule appointments further than 60 days in advance. So do NOT expect your appointments to be available right away. I recommend that you start checking the Visa Interview Appointments website for your appointment every week 45 days after the receipt of the hardcopy packing by the Manila Embassy from the NVC.

Cheers!!!

Sheriff Uling

p.s. - Unfortunately, the Manila Embassy is the second busiest in the world, which requires a lot more patience than most US Citizens are accustomed too.

Hello to all, i know this question is already asked but i just can't find the right thread and am a lil lazy looking for it  ... anyway, my question is: Is it ok if I only have a computer printed copy of my husband's Form 1040(ITR)? Actually it is his copy of his ITR when he filed the tax online. Just want to make sure i have the right documents. Hoping for your response... Thanks a lot!

Hey guys.. I need some enlightenment..

1. I've read from somewhere that downloadable ITR is not admissible when the beneficiary have his/her interview with the local consul coz "somewhere" said that the USE officer will ask for signed ITR from the IRS. Is that true?

2. Plus, "somewhere" also says that the petitioners' bank statement account must be signed too by a bank officer? How true? My fiance is station to different places each year coz he is an army. And he is in CO right now. He opened his bank accounts way back many years ago in Hawaii and Miami and its not possible for him to fly anytime soon to HI or MI to have that bank statement accounts! Can he just have his relatives do that for him? Any suggestions?

Thanks in advance. Julie

You were never a mistake. You were my realization.
