Hello! guys,

This is a concern of my friend who happens to be a member here and I'm raising this in behalf of her coz she's kinda shy to post or ask.

She has a daughter when she married her man.

My question is..

Is it necessary for her and her kid to have a separate affidavit of support form and a co-sponsor(husband's mom) from her husband as a benificiary?

She is bothered by this and I hope you can share your expertise towards this matter.

Thanks in advance for your replies.

WHHOOOOPPIII We were approved for our visa during interview today. We had 7:30 am interview, we were there at 6:45, back at the hotel at 11 am.

Thank you so much everyone especially PW and Sheriff Uling. We took Sheriff's map to interview, it helped a lot althought things have changed a little since the orginial post was done. I will let you know later what they are.

The CO was a middle aged white guy, he asked us to sit down, swore us to tell the truth. Asked Gra how we met, when did I come to see her, then made the comment that I must really mean this to make 3 trips in 9 months. haha of course I told him I could not stay away from her. He looked at the photos, made comment, "nice rock", we just smiled. The the photos of the engagement, he was impressed said "you are romantic". Gra had done a great job with the folders, even putting stickers on the pics, like "faces of love", etc. He said it was very well done, and that it made his job easier. He said he enjoyed looking at the pics. hahaha Then he said, "You are approved, this looks great, do you have any questions?" We asked for an embassy pickup and he said "no problem". Waited to be called again and that was that. now the celebration.

Dean and Gracia

Congratulations Dean and Gra!!! I hope to have an easy time on my interview appointment and I hope it will go smoothly even though my David can't be with me.

BEST WISHES! :dance::thumbs::dance:

Hi PW....just want to ask if my own ITR and other proof of documents here in the Phils. are needed for my interview.Or is it just my bf's Affidavit of Support and other supporting documents about his income that we should prepare? Thanks a lot in advance. You've been a great help to everyone here esp. to a newbie like me........

Mafiaprincess...

The petitioner (your fiance and not bf... I'm sure that you don't address him that way or at least I hope so  ) completes the I-134 Affidavit of Support and provides the appropriate back-up documentation for you to submit during your visa interview.

Cheers!!!

Sheriff Uling

p.s. - What did your question have to do with PW feeling like she was a virgin touched for the very first time? Hahahahaha....

Sheriff Uling.....

thank you for your answer :D .I posted that question to PW coz it's my first attempt in posting a message here and that's the nearest message of PW i could find....besides.....seems appropriate in way, right? . I noticed that you and PW are the most helpful members here with your insights....thanks a lot again....

great to hear that they're adjusting really well. i saw the pics taken at Disneyland with the Sheriff and Deputy! seems like you guys had tons of fun. good luck on your AOS...it will be quick and painless...i hope. :)

I just saw the pictures, too and nakakainggit! Can we organize a CA get-together pretty please? All of us Manila VJers should have one in CA! And that's an order, said the SHERIFF & DEPUTY SHERIFF ;)

Sheriff, mafiaprincess thinks I'm a virgin so let her be :no:   <ay grabe, the emoticons are having violent reactions!!!>

Mafiaprincess, I have to bow to what the Sheriff said. Only your fiance's ITR/W2 and I-134 matter to the embassy. And this is very important, always address your fiance as "my fiance" not "my bf" especially during your interview.

By the way Sheriff, the consul has trick questions when interviewing so you may want to include that in your tips. The consul knew that Doug worked for one of the Big 3s in MI yet this was how part of my interview went:

CO: What does your fiance do?

Me: He is a systems analyst

CO: Systems analyst for a small company?

Me: Nope, he works for xxxx

Another trick question. He shows me a photo of me and Doug together and he goes

CO: Is he your husband? <pointing to Doug>

Me: No, that is my fiance. <now, if one secretly wed her fiance, one would probably trip up and say yes, that's my husband>

CO: He is not the father of your son?

Me: <I had to smile and say...> No

And then we talked about scuba diving and stuff. I got to ask the CO some questions too, hehe

PW......thank you for answering my question......hope my "fiance" is not reading this or else I'm in for a long explanation :crying::lol: ....i've read that among the documents that i should bring are the Western Union receipts or remittance receipts....as i'm employed, i didn't let my "fiance" support me so i have no remittance receipts to show.will it affect my chance of getting the visa?....thanks again sa pangugulit......

Cora (PW)...

Having a get together in Cali would be a very cool thing.

As some of you know, we've been hanging out with Steven and Jinky (Steven & Jinky) as well as Paul and Annie (YnaYeBa0808). Unfortunately Mychelle's husband is not interested in kicking it and does not see why she still hangs out on VJ since his AOS is approved. :bonk: Whatever! :diablo: Some of the Pinoys, I just don't get. Anywho, it would be nice to have a get together with more of the folks here in Cali. Hell, if we're in any state that you live in, we're gonna look you up.

Cheers!!!

allAhmari (Sheriff Uling) & Jhen (Deputy Uling)

p.s. - If anyone in Cali is interested in getting together, please let us know. The more the merrier...

Hey! Judy and I would like to attend, can we wrap a cable around California and drag it over to where Alabama is now? it would make it much easier for us Georgians!

hellooooooooooooooooo! me and adam might try to join you guys since we are at south lake tahoe california. But it depends on ur schedule my flight is on may 31 as i hav chosen that date to be able to finish all my transactions from graduate school as well a my work. hope to meet u THAT IS SOO EXCITING.

Waaaah!!! That is not fair!!! Waaaah!!! :crying::crying: <stomping feet and throwing tantrums> I’m happy for you supra. That was a super-duper quick visa release and delivery, and in Cebu yet!

Delbros website indicates that my passport is out for delivery today but no passport/visa up to this time and it’s already 10:30. I guess, I will have to wait again tomorrow. Oh well, I’m not called Patiently Waiting for nothing. And so I wait again... :clock:

x x x is it really $165 for a visa delivery? he said to bring Php300.00, or it's supposed to be Php165? I'm wondering how much peso should i bring with me on my interview. and got confused with this one. someone clear this up pls?? thanks

It's 165 pesos for visa delivery.

Hell, if we're in any state that you live in, we're gonna look you up.

Uh-oh! PW wanted dead or alive by the Sheriff  Doug is moving out west to WA state in May and you might want to start looking for your fugitive over there.

so in behalf of the VJ community, i welcome myself in this thread! yay!

Haha, you are funny. Welcome to our thread and your name will be included in our Waiting List as soon as you get your I-130 approved. I hope your wait is not too long.

Is it necessary for her and her kid to have a separate affidavit of support form and a co-sponsor(husband's mom) from her husband as a benificiary?

For K visa, if the child is derivative, only one I-134 is required for both principal beneficiary and derivative. I am not sure, however, if same is true for CR-1 and I-864. Let me research that first and I will get back to you if not tonight then tomorrow night.

Updating list to congratulate supra, san francisco, dean/gra, vsmtqhdy. ElMasGuapo, please let us know developments in your fiancee's case. If there is something we can help you with, please do not hesitate to let us know.

This is a concern of my friend who happens to be a member here and I'm raising this in behalf of her coz she's kinda shy to post or ask.

She has a daughter when she married her man. My question is. Is it necessary for her and her kid to have a separate affidavit of support form and a co-sponsor(husband's mom) from her husband as a benificiary?

According to the USCIS website, “accompanying spouses and children also need to submit Form I-864. Each spouse or child must submit a photocopy of the principal’s I-864 but they do not need to submit a photocopy of the supporting documentation." http://www.uscis.gov/files/pressrelease/AffSuppAFM062706.pdf

This means that your friend will submit an original I-864 together with supporting documentation like ITR and W2 while her child will only need to submit a photocopy of the I-864 without the ITR and W2.

If the principal's income is not sufficient, then your friend will also need to submit original I-864 of joint sponsor together with his/her ITR and W2 and her child will need to submit photocopy of joint sponsor's I-864. Note that the joint sponsor's I-864 can only be an addition to the principal's I-864. Principal sponsor must always submit I-864 even if his income is not sufficient.

It's almost midnight and I am tired. I don't think I am making much sense. If there is something you don't understand with what I wrote above please let me know.

i've read that among the documents that i should bring are the Western Union receipts or remittance receipts....as i'm employed, i didn't let my "fiance" support me so i have no remittance receipts to show.will it affect my chance of getting the visa?....thanks again sa pangugulit......

If your fiance is not supporting you, then it is alright if you don't have remittance receipts. The consul will admire you for being financially independent.
