Ok, let's go back to my driving... Last Monday, my husband made me drive to the grocery store. I parked the car (the regular way) poorly but he said it was not so bad. He wanted me to drive home again so I did. I was so ready to do backing to pull out of the parking (with me looking over my shoulder, which is the right thing to do) when I heard my husband said "Stop, stop!". I pressed the brake so hard, looked at him and with a puzzle look on my face, I noticed that the gear was on "drive" and I was doing "reverse".:blush::blush: There was a big post in front of our car and I was 6 inches away from hitting it. Boy... did I scare David. Poor thing!:blush:

Mae,

When you drive thru Kansas City, Call first and please give me a fair warning.... Pretty Please!!!!!!

Last June 3, I hit our garage door while I was backing out  Hubby did not get mad at me, he just said "don't worry about it, it was an accident". Entire garage door was replaced today. It cost our home insurance more than $1,500. Ouch!

LOL.... I was kidding! Don't worry, you will be a great driver...... :D

I hope so! Having a retired state trooper husband, I need to be the greatest driver. Whenever he's showing me how to do things, he makes it look soooooooo easy. I mean he would be like "Ok, this, that, there, bam! That's it!" and I will be like "Huh? " But at least he never gives up on teaching me (at least not yet). It frustrates him whenever I would try to do backing on our driveway and couldn't center the car on its proper side. I'm really doing my best not only to please him but also for my own good.

Oh no! If that happened to me, I'm not sure which one will upset David... Having his prized possession (car) damaged or going through our home insurance to replace the damaged garage? I think both! So far, I haven't had serious accident (and would never want any). I had minor mishaps :innocent: but it's not so bad. Hey, I'm still learning so it should be forgiveable. RIGHT?! RIGHT?!

P.S.

I just remember, some nights ago, I was driving from church to home and failed notice the policeman using his radar on me. It was a good thing that that night, I was like 5 miles below the posted speed limit. Normally, I was 10-15 miles over and that would freak David. I really didn't see the police, it was David who mentioned it to me after we passed him by and he said it's a good thing I wasn't doing the "Filipina driving" (means reckless driving  ). Otherwise, we would have been pulled over for overspeeding. Yikes! When he told me that, I got so nervous, I was stepping on the gas so hard that I was running 45mph on a school zone (20mph) without realizing it. David had to ask me to slow down. Oh dear, I was sooooooo scared. I haven't driven from church to home lately (after that incident) because I'm still scared. Policemen here are sooooo sneaky, you will fail to see them.

Mae,

I can just imagine your driving and David's face. It is really tough driving here. I had my share of backing up on a church post last February and it made me so scared and I cried hard so my hubby did not bother to be upset.. Anyways, last Sunday I told my husband that I will drive home from Suwanee Ga and he gave instruction to watch out the sign for the interstate but oh... I forgot to change lane so I missed my exits ... then I have to merge to a 4 lanes and I was so scared watching all the flying cars. I told my husband I am not going to drive here again!!!!! I am just glad that my husband was there and he helped me and we came home safely by God's grace.

I have a problem with curves and still practicing on it...

:blink::blink: Wow... what an experience for you.

I don't worry about driving on interstates anymore since it's what I do best. I have driven on sharp curves and turns and even though it always scared me to death, I was also elated and ecstatic whenever I will make it through. Merging and changing lanes on city traffic are still hardships especially if I'm using my own car since it has too many blind spots. But with David's Tahoe, I can see all the cars behind and beside me. I still have to work on parking though... I have seen the place where I will be doing an actual parallel parking as part of the driving tests. The space is big enough to maneuver a smooth parking. We will be taking its measurement so David can set up my own space at the school parking (at the back of our house) and practice parallel. I really hope to have my license this summer so I can sneak up on my car and go to Wal Mart on my own, YAY!!! Maybe I'll drive to KC and see my friend Ruchie.

Anybody wants to come over for supper tonight? I'm having pork sinigang (with complete ingredients) and fried tilapia. :P Two nights ago, I found live crabs at the Asian store we have here and bought some. Steamed them for supper with sauteed "kangkong" in oyster sauce. Boy, that was sooooooooooooooooooo good! I'm excited for tonight's meal. The sinigang is as good as we have it back home. Everyone's invited! Just bring "patis" with you.
