Hello Manila Thread family! Well, I am finally done with the AOS.:dance:  Since it was transferred to CSC, it was approved last Dec. 3rd without an interview.:thumbs::thumbs: It is such a good feeling knowing that I can now live freely here in the US, drive (but I have to learn how to drive first  ) and travel out of the country. No more immigration for almost 2 years - yeahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!

Good luck to all who are still waiting in the visa process and may your journey will be as smooth as mine.

Cheers to all!

We know that Ate Cora lives in Washington...and it was under the state of emergency because of the floods(10ft) and mudslide, i do hope she is safe along with her family (can anyone please contact her).

Hello, I'm A-OK!!! Thanks for askin, imaskin ;) We are not affected by the flood because my in-laws' house sits on top of a hill overlooking the city of Longview. The city itself did not have any flooding (thank goodness!!!) and we're so happy about that.

Whereabouts in WA do you live? Maybe we can meet up.

I hope you are nearer to Portland than you are to Seattle because there's an Asian store in Portland called Fubonn and they sell lumpia and siomai wrapper. Here's their website http://www.fubonn.com/

They also sell tahong, oyster, bangus, bagoong, Nagaraya crackers, chippy and a few other Filipino stuff. I did not see choc-nut though. I was able to buy my walis tambo there but they don't carry walis ting-ting.

Congratulations Mae for a successful AOS without interview. Ang galing-galing naman!

Someday we'll meet up:-) when we go to Portland to visit my in-laws.

Novelyn & Gragg Congratulations:-). I''m sure i could have gotten my EAD card now if it wasn't rejected. :(

And so my Green Card (or should I say white card since it's white in color? :D) arrived yesterday. My husband said I shouldn't be carrying it with me because I might lose it. But according to the instructions, it should always be with me and ready for me to show my residency. Which is which?

P.S. They really used the picture taken during the Biometrics for the GC, instead of the 2x2 we submitted in the paperwork. David said I look like a kid on my GC.:luv: "I want my mommy, waaaaaaaaaaa, I want my mommy!":lol::lol: Huh? Who's the kid? Me?

MERRY CHRISTMAS ALL!!!

It's been about a year now since the group from Dec 2006 had their interviews. hope everyone's doing fine. Yazi started a part time job this weekend at a senior living facility. she's happy to finally have a job. it's been frustrating for her not working. in the next couple of weeks she has an interview for a govt. job.

hope life is treating everyone well.

I read one of Mae's posts in April that her husband died a few days after her biometrics. It's so sad. I don't know what became of her AOS.

Hope all is well with you all.
