 WAIT, are you speaking about Damien (your hubby)?? Oh, I though you meant Damian Marley. Girl, now you know I love me some Damian M. because I am just ranting on and on and on. I am laughing so hard right now, I think I am going to cry. (Inhale/Exhale). Ok, I am sorry. But yea, Gyptian is a good artist. I have never seen him perform in person though. And as you know Damian is another fav of mine. I think I need to take a nap now.

:lol: you are funny. I love Damian Marley too. He's coming to town with Stephen sometime in May.

I walked right by him one night backstage. He opened up here for U2. He was very shy & quiet. Sitting on top of a table talking to a few of his back up singers. He is truly talented. I didnt hound him, its unprofessional in my business to do that, but it was neat seeing him up close.

Plus good to see a brotha open up for an international band band like U2.

Girl I feel you about the emotions, I've just changed BACK from the B****H from helll lol!

Been sick from maybe 3 weeks pregnant though and STILL throwing up :(

I am SOOOOOOOO scared of getting pregnant

Please dont be. It is a heck of a lot better than this whole freakin process. Promise, believe me. Id have labor 10 x to this mess.

Oh my gosh. & to think that soon I wont be just a visitor or vacationer, I will be FAMILY!!!! IM SO EXCITED.

I know what you mean. I feel like I'm part Jamaican myself ;) Everyone is jealous when I tell them I'm going to visit my in-laws!

My new father-in-law is an opinionated sweetheart that refuses to retire, drives a school bus and collects cowbells and pennies dated since before my own mother was born. My mother-in-law doesn't say much but bakes some great pies and always has something to wrap up for us to take back home.

Guess I am one of the luckier ones with no real issues with acceptance here.

gotta love it. My soon to be mom n law each time has cut me up a lot of sugar cane & froze it for me. When I got back home I ate on it wishing I was back in Jamaica. It was so darn good.

Hey Trinilad!

You mentioned a $250.00 wedding!!!! How did you guys get such a good deal and can you please offer some tips? Thanks! :D

Wow, what happened?

Congrats to Texasbound!

And also congrats to the others who have been approved and/or received their visas!

thank you

Anna sorry for the whole orderly on your NOA2. Hang in there. I understand the distance and years of waiting. I think we are the two with the longest relationships with our husbands. We have waited forever so now I understand u want him to soon be over. I prepared Dwain and told him 9 months would be the shortest and the longest would be a year. Hang in there good news is soon to come :luv:

I am sitting here totally bewildered.

So he comes to the US and he and your daughter do not get along intially. What happens after 3 months? Do you extend the lease and see how things go. I am going to put aside the whole fiance situation for a min and just deal with this from the perspective that I am not sure your jamaican fiance is trying you on for size so why are YOU trying him on for size? This is a life changing, give everything up and move scenario. We Americans have to understand that just because some Jamaicas are so keen to move here does not necessarily give us the right to encourage them to move from thier comfort zone while we try to work out these domestic situations. I am reading on here about people being afraid to face parents about thier decsions, or face family , or face children. There is a certain sequence of events that should take place before we get our foreign fiance's to make this major sacrifice and move to the United States. Getting the family, children , parents and the like on board is something that needs to be resolved BEFORE if they are that important. Cause if I am an Jamaican fiance and I move to the US and then have an American fiance tell me that either the kids, parents , friends, or the likes do not like me so I have to go back, I may not necessarily take it so nicely. Leave him in Jamaica until you are certain you are going to stick it out no matter what. When he moves here, it should be straight to your home, to your bed and whereever you are from the day he arrives.Besides the obvious problems with immigration, what kind of security are you providing him in this situation. If I was the Jamaican fiance and you came to me with a proposal like this............you will get a rather rude crash course in Jamaican patois and it would not sound good.

Trinland I agree family is important. One of the major reasons for the USA is IN LAWS. There are 4 top reasons.

1. Money

2. Religion

3. In laws

4. How many kids u want

WOW I missed a lot being gone for one day my goodness. Sorry Shermike I am glad for this site. It has helped me out in so many ways from finding a wedding planner for step one and everything inbetween. I haven't seen u around much anyway so don't be so rude in that only one post. We aren't being mean here at all.

Thanks to everyone here for the supporting help. This site is wonderful. I once was a seed and have bloomed threw this journey.

MWA XOXOX

I was in aww once when we had the drummer from third world come and play with the saxophone player of Ziggy Marley and then the bass player and Key board player of Maxi Priest. And Christopher Brich came from the High school I taught at and he really didn't have shoes true story ha. Many of the famous musicians behind the singers come from the school in MoBay I taught at.

Maxi Priest I don't go gaga over all them any more. I went back stage after they played at the house of blues. They are all my good friends thats it. I guess once you work music down there u met tons of them. Many of my past students now play for famous singers. My Hubby would of went on tour but his artist got caught with copyright infringement.

Hanging out in a recording studio in MoBay boring. So small not like here in the USA. I study the recording studio for 2 years so I understand the mixing and patch bay systems.

Gyptian though is really good.

Wow now I am rethinking about getting pregant as soon as hubby arrives. I don't know if i can deal with new emotions. As woman myself I am hormonal enough

But we just can't wait to have a crazy one of us running around. Sounds like my life will be changing a lot when he gets here next month and to have a kid right away my free time looks like it may go poof.

My parents (and family) all love Tony but it took them a while to come around. I wish they could have come to Jamaica and met him before he came up here. My friend Jackie had her parents do that and it made things a lot easier. It's hard when your family can't even put a face to the name. Yeah, mom & dad, I'm getting married! Here's a picture of fiance! You'll meet him just as soon as he gets a Visa! My parents were like WHAT?!!!!!!!!! :bonk:

I think getting married in JA was the best and my parents, friends, and some aunts and uncles got to met him all at once and spend a week with us. They all loved him. My mom asked if he had a serious side because he is always trying to be funny. I told her yes behind close doors just like u and dad with serious conversation. My dad and him get along great it is really scary. I am just sad my little brother was in Indonesia and didn't get to met him yet. I told him this isn't my whole family yet he said what. He has about 100 more members to met he thinks its crazy I come from a big family. He said he can't wait to met the other interracial couple in our family. Our family has many wonderful cultures African American, Chinese, Hispanic, Japanese and now Jamaican. I guess thats why it was very easy with my family :energetic:
