ok guys.

I know this will sound way more negative than I mean it but..do you ever feel like you just cant do it anymore? The being apart, relying on crappy phones, stretching EVERY SINGLE penny all for what seems like nothing? Not nothing as in the relationship is nothing, but as in no advances? It is as though I think everyday will get easier..but it doesnt it never does. It gets harder and harder and sometimes is VERY frustrating.

Perhaps it is just my situation but I know if it wasn't for the Lord taking care of me and the faith I am still clinging to then I WOULD BE GOING CRAZY right now!

It just seems as though communication is getting even harder to have. Marsh lost a phone. Then the phone messed up. Now the service sucks and I know he isnt cheating on my or doing this on purpose or anything like that but its just at that point where I just cant BE LIKE this.

These are minor minor things compared to what we will go through and what many of you have gone thru..but it doesn't seem minor to me right now.

ARGH.

So.. any miracle cures out there for the "im-about-to-go-nuts-because-my-husband-is-still-in-jamaica-and-it-sucks" illness?

Shrewdgal, I know I am late coming in, but wanted to put my 2 cents in. No lie, this is a hard process to go through. I had so many frustrating nights being away from him, and the most FRUSTRATING of nights were when the phone card wouldn't work right. My girl, it use to stress the hell out of me. I remember right before we finally got our interview date, I called Aaron, my sister, my best friend and Jenice and just asking why does it have to be so hard. I remember telling Jenice that I know that the time when I feel at my breaking point and I can't go any more, that is when the breakthrough comes. So said, so done...I spoke to Jenice the Tuesday and by the Thursday we had our interview date (Jenice and I). I looked at this time apart as God preparing Aaron and I to be better spouses for each other.

I will be praying for your strength through this time and know that these times you will not remember when he is in bed beside you; when he is having dinner with you at nights, going out to the movies and dates. Right now, I am just praising God because there were many nights when all I could do was cry myself to sleep because I missed him so. We are all pulling for you to get to that point of resolution soon...you and Gill (L) .

Gill - Please let Nicky know that I am pulling for her and I am praying for the best for her.

This is from a recent MENA thread.....it goes back to our chats about LuvTravlin giving her husband the boot and the points brought up about spousal support.........Here are a few more opinions......

QUOTE(YuAndDan @ Nov 12 2007, 03:49 PM)

I-864 only kicks in if EX uses means tested benefits from State and US government, you can be billed for those services.

Only way out of the I-864 binding contract is when one of the following 5 conditions are met.

Immigrant Dies

Sponsor Dies

Immigrant works and is credited with 40 quarters of work.

Immigrant leaves the USA and abandons LPR status

Immigrant naturalizes and becomes a US citizen.

I've done some research on the internet before finding this site, and oh yea, if the alien knows how to work the system, you can get sued to provide a payment to the ex for 125% of poverty level as a support - check out existing New York and Florida cases...I don't have an extra $12K a year to give this guy if he won't work to offset the amount unless me and the munchkin live in a cardboard box somewhere to cut the expenses required to be able to pay him to sit on his butt. Some incentive for aliens to become "useful" residents of the States...there is no incentive for him to work or become a citizen if there are no penalties for his behavior, or lack thereof...

I brought up the fraud comment and asked if that is a way out of the above. I await their replies.

Here's the rest............Proving fraud to the USCIS would more than likely involve written statements or utterances that your spouse made to either yourself or others, and such statements making reference to his "entering the marriage solely to gain residency" directly or implied. Implied would take other peculiarities in conjunction to present a compelling case before the IJ. Having illicit relations with another person, or a dalliance during the marriage is not always indicative of fraud or an alien's initial intent for the marriage to be simply a vehicle to secure permanent residency. Indicative of an alien's lack of respect, and commitment, perhaps, but not necessarily indicative of his intent upon entering into the marriage in the first place.

Good Morning All.....

Well, NVC will receive our DS-230 Visa Application and all the necessary documents to finish processing our case today!

Does anyone know approximately how long it takes for them to case complete and then how long it takes to get to the embassy?

I was looking at some of the timelines and it looks like once NVC receives it, it takes approximately another month before the interview date. Can anyone help?

I am like others here, getting impatient........but still holding out for the day to bring him home!

Peace & Love,

Me Waan Chicken

A man walked into a Kentucky Fried Chicken restaurant in Jamaica and "passed out" on the floor. People gathered around to help him by fanning and doing everything they could to help him regain conciousness.

Someone peeled an orange and started squeezing the juice into his mouth, whereupon the man suddenly came back to life, pushed the person away and yelled,

"Luk yah man! If me did want orange, me woulda fall down in de market." ********************************************************************************

Thanks gals!! This is nuts. I have to try hard not to get jealous of "normal" people and what they have!! I feel like screaming to the heavens "I JUST WANT THE PHONE TO WORK>>THATS ALL!!!!" ahhaha :)

Thanks for the reminder of the hope y'all!!

Rosa

Those were great points....I like the one about God using this time to prepare you to become a better spouse, this is indeed true. I found it better to cope when I busy... Getting the home ready, exerciseing , meditation, taking time to enjoy those quiet moments, that now I feel like I don't have enough of, because everyone is pulling me every which way. Mostly getting used to being alone with me, getting to know me, so that I could be a better spouse and parent. That phone situation just sucks, thankfully we did not have this problem at least not often enough where it drove me crazy. I hope it get's better for you too. (F)

Good Afternoon All,

Well, I was very happy this morning knowing that the NVC received my case.

However, I called and talked to an operator and she gave me some dishearting news......

She said that once the NVC receives it, it takes between 10-15 days to match the mail to the case.

Once it is matched to the case, then it takes 2-4 weeks to review and if everything is complete and nothing is missing, then the interview will be scheduled.

She said we may not even be able to get a January interview date. They will be scheduling January interview dates the 2nd week of December and she doubts if we will make that cut off either.

Boy this really makes me wanna :crying: !!!!

Peace & Love,

Tonya
