Hello My Yardies Family!! (L)

It has been a "likkle" while since I have checked in. I see soooo many newbies in the group. It is nice to know that most of the veterans are still around. I see that many of you have great happenings in your life and have been blessed with future "pickney's".... ;)

I was unable to read a lot of history but I did read about TexasBound's situation. I am soo sorry that you are going through this. Please know that the pain will pass in the next few months and God will provide a better future for you. (F)

So...we received the "Welcome to America" e-mail notice today so we are expecting the Green card any day now. The FBI name check was painful because we wanted to travel back to Jamaica but were afraid to travel without the Green Card. We are now planning a trip in June. I can't wait!!! We miss Jamaica bad.....

Duane and I are doing well and getting adjusted to married life. The cultural adjustment is tough at times and this entire process takes a tremendous amount of patience. If anyone ever tells you it is easy...they would simply be lying or crazy.......WE are doing good for the most part and just thankful that our love is strong. It has been the glue that has held us together during the rough patches. The lifestyle adjustment part has been the hardest......I think of your yardies often and really do not knwo how I could have made it through all this without you. I am sorry that I do not check in more frequently but we are really busy and it is hard to find the free time. I miss all of you and please know that you are all in my thoughts and prayers.

I will check in soon!

Take care my Family-

Kim (L)

great question marlita! we originally wanted to have a wedding in jamaica. if my friends and family really wanted to come, they could. unfortunately, that's not the case with my fiance. since we're going the k-1 route and are forbidden to marry there i asked him if he'd like to have a fake ceremony there. he said he didn't want to do something if it was "just for show." he suggested that we could go on and have the wedding in the states (because we have to do it that way, lol) and we'd have an engagement party in jamaica.

by the way, who can tell me how to get my ticker to work right? when i copied and pasted the bb link it didn't work here.

Remove the word 'image' and use IMG, keeping the brackets and everything else the same :)

Morning everyone...

I have shared my complete story with a couple of people and some have encouraged me to share on the Yardie thread…I haven’t had the courage to do so before now but I can see that it might be helpful and felt that now is the right time. Also I have been getting a lot of questions via PM about my life and the move and just wanted to answer them all at one time...So this is my story and even if it is useful to ONE person than it is worth it.

Please note that this is a PERSONAL account and this is what is happening to ME….I am telling MY story and nothing more…

Thank you so much for sharing, I hope things work out in a way that you will find happiness.....I think with marriage there are some things you can NEVER plan for, you just can't predict....You have really seemed to have planned carefully and taken precautions, but there was no way you could have known things would be like this....My prayers are with you

Texas, my heart goes out to you :(

I know it's not much comfort, but at least this happen BEFORE you married him, otherwise you could have lived a lie for years until he got his conditional green card or even beyond....It pains me to see your 4 year old got to know him too, but thank God he didn't stay there and become a bigger part of her life only for him to disappear.....My prayers are with you girl....

What a freaking a**h*le :ranting::angry::bonk: I am so sorry you had to go through all this. Unfortunately you just never know. Hang in there - you got some good advice already about contacting INS and such to cover your own butt - I would definately do that. After 90 days, he will be here ILLEGALLY and since you reported it, it is not your responsibility.

Hello Ladies,

Still hard to believe I'm really preggo  Am I supposed to feel different? I don't feel anything!

Count your blessings, I got pregnant around Xmas, and by EARLY Jan I was throwing up, less than 2 WEEKS later....Only JUST stopped :(

Then the heartburn started :(

Yeah, I spoke too soon  I am sooooo moody, emotional, and short tempered - it's like I have PMS all the time :crying: My face is breaking out. My boobs hurt. I'm really tired. I'm scared to death of morning sickness :help:

Well, we've made up our minds - almost. We're going to Jamaica in August instead of November. I really don't want to go into labor in JA  I'm going from Aug. 18-25 and Tony will either go at the same time as me or 1 week before that. He wants to spend more time with his family and friends and I can't get any more vacation time. It will all depend on how much money he can save up for the trip (1 week vs. 2 weeks)

Didn' a couple of you other Yardie's mention that you may be in JA in August? What part of JA? I will be in Ochi as usual. B)

I haven't really had it too much yet. I was just saying I'm scared of it  I have had a few bouts of nausea, but no puking yet. Who knows what even qualifies as "morning" for me? I work from 11pm to 7:30am so I don't wake up til around 5 pm!! I don't know when my morning is!!!

Dammit! Mi waan go back to JA :crying: Rhonda girl I'd be in Ochi right with you  big belly and all

I haven't had morning sickness - my face is breaking out slightly and it gets harder to get out of bed every morning. A few headaches. For the most part it's been bearable. I have a list of questions to ask my doc this Thursday.

Hey Kim (F)

TexasBound I am sorry to hear that, but the fact that you did not marry him is a blessing as you're not financially responsible for him. The Lord knows what He's doing...I'm praying for you and your child.
