*********THURSDAY CHUCKLE*********

The Dying Husband

Marcus was shocked and saddened. But, being a solid character, he managed to compose himself and walk

from the doctor's office into the waiting room, where his son had been waiting.

"Well son, we Jamaicans celebrate when tings good, and we even celebrate when tings nuh so good. In dis case, tings nuh so good. Mi have cancer. Mek we go a de bar go drink two juice."

After 3 or 4 Red Stripe, the two were feeling a little less somber. There were some laughs and some more rum. They were eventually approached by some of Marcus' old friends, who were curious as to what the two were celebrating. Marcus told them that the Jamaicans celebrate the good as well as the bad. He went on to tell his friends that they were drinking to his impending end. He told his friends, "Dem tell mi seh mi have AIDS."

The friends gave Marcus their condolences, and they had a couple more drinks . After the friends left, Marcus' son leaned over and whispered his confusion. "Pops, mi tink yu seh yu have cancer, but now yu jus tell yu fren dem seh yu have AIDS! " Marcus said, "Mi nuh waant none a dem a sleep wid yu Madda aftah mi gaan!!! "

OK now....

Can we get a Thursday Chuckle today??? I think we all need a little something to lighten the mood. In no way is it sweeping it under the rug BUT.... I think this issue/situation has beed tackled from all angles and now it is time to let the parties involved deal with their pain. I have no doubt that they are both aware that EVERYONE on this board is there for support and if need be .... can be addressed again one on one.... but...we have many people who are at different stages of journey's and would like to get back to status's or questions about other issues. If I am wrong please forgive my assumptions but I am ready to move on to another topic.

Wow...I musta missed a lot since last night! Anyways.....I've been reading pages and pages of posts about this Lilly/Nikki thing and to both women involved it is very sad if this Corey character mislead both of them. I won't comment on the situation cause' it seems like anything and everything I would have said....has already been said by now.

However, I see both women have "talked" to each other about this but seems like the focus should be more on the MAN etc. Since we don't know what he's up to right now, it's a little hard to give any real advice to either of these women. Unfortunately, stuff like this upsets all of us because we've all seen this type of stuff before and we want to believe that nothing like this could really happen to us. I know I want to believe that but I'm smart enough to know....it does happen whether he's from JA , USA or wherever!

Hopefully these ladies will recover from all of this and make choices they can live with. I don't know them personally but I know these posts probably caused them a whole LOT more pain, stress etc. Is there really anyone to blame in a situation like this once everyone is in your business? Probably not.

I vote to keep it movin and just pray that both ladies are o.k........

Tonisha :)

Another thing....what makes me more angry than anything that is said is when people voice thier opinion about any topic we have and if it differs from the "NORM" then we are automatically labled as a WAR. #######??? That just is like a slap in the face because isn't that what we are here for? I haven't seen anyone attack another person on here. This is a very sensitive issue and we all have some sort of emotional tie to it either because it has happened before or we hope it won't happen SO that being said....it will become heated but that doesn't mean we are at WAR. That goes back to the old stereotype that anytime a woman of color has an opinion we are viewed as aggressive or angry. THAT IS BULLSH##. If you are that sensitive to peoples views on issues than maybe this isn't the right venue for you. (I mean YOU as anyone who the shoe fits)

There have been attacks here in the past - not sure if you were a member at that time. Those of us that mention a war were here to witness them and we hope that this posting does not turn into one.

Exactly...no one called this discussion a war. It was just a reminder to keep things civil and attack free as there have been all out wars in the past. It was merely a plea for this discussion to continue to stay on a good track. Sensitive issues with raw emotions and feelings and a difference of opinions are how they usually start...we just don't want to see that happen here today.

I just want to say, I did not write that part above that is now being quoted. Someone quoted me and now it looks like I said that about war. I have heard others say things about war. And, I have seen it first hand on here. I don't agree with the concept at all.

And, the person that said the part about my conscience and quoted me on it. I'm sorry if you disagree. Things do weigh heavily on my conscience, sometimes for no reason really. It is how I am and I will not apologize for it. I feel for everyone on here because we share a commonality. I follow my conscience and take things to heart because of that. It is what it is and I will never apologize for feeling sympathy for others and wanting to save the world. I'd rather be labled something to that effect then as heartless.

Life's just a crazy ride on a run away train

You can't go back for what you've missed

So make it count, hold on tight find a way to make it right

You only get one trip

So make it good, make it last 'cause it all flies by so fast

You only get one trip

I appreciate everybody's views and opinions on what you'd do differently or even the same . . . but until this is laid at your feet (like it was mine), you cannot say with certainty what you would or wouldn't do.

If you knew me . . . you would know that I don't create adversity -- that I despise it . . . and I also loathe people with a lack of integrity.

I hope that none of you have to experience what I've gone through in the past 24 hours ever in your lives. But, what God brings you to, he will bring you through. And -- you teach others how you want to be treated. (I hope you read this, Nicky.)

I have no clue what I would do in this situation. I do know this - both of you innocent ladies are in a position of pain and hurt. To fall in love is to practically become someone new. If you are at the point in a relationship, as well all know, where you are considering marriage, then that new person is already a large part of you. I think we just all need to consider that and give these hurting people our prayers. Airing "dirty laundry" is always risky, but I think the focus here should be that there is in fact "DIRTY LAUNDRY" - not that it was being aired!! Do whatever you need to heal, girl..but just remember not everyone heals the same way :)

My prayers are with you. "And may the God of Peace bring you hope"

AMEN!!!!! Your points are now becoming lost because you are starting to beat a dead horse. Nikki knows, we all know, now lets move forward. I know personally I have heard ENOUGH. We understand your pain, and we are here for support but lets move forward and there is ABSOLUTELY NO REASON for YOU to contact the Embassy!!

I'm not sure I wouldn't contact them.

Without a SHADOW of a doubt I would. I would do my utmost to destroy his life...Just asked my husband what he`d do and he would contact them too....Not telling her she should, but I damn well would
